How did you start modeling?
I always had a deep instinct that modeling was a career that was very suited for me, as I have always had an affinity for the performing arts and for fashion and beauty. I traveled abroad to Italy with the business school that I am enrolled in last May; there I began to reach out to photographers and build up a wonderful portfolio while I was there for the summer. When I returned home I continued to expand my career rapidly.
What type of modeling do you like the most and why?
I enjoy high fashion modeling, both editorial and runway. I find an enormous satisfaction in portraying a character, in playing out their mannerisms, in radiating their emotions to create a snapshot of their feelings, and in creating a magnetizing charisma the viewers of my work will gravitate towards. I think that high fashion is the genre that best allows me to be able to do that.
What is your favorite shoot you’ve done? Why?
I think that my favorite shoot was one I did with a photographer in Italy. I didn’t know him, and he asked me to travel a few hours by train to the eastern coast of Italy; I was living on the western coast. It was a bit frightening because I was foreign to the country, traveling by myself. I didn’t know the language, and he was a stranger. He picked me up at the train station and drove me to the beach along a countryside road in his convertible. The air was so sweet and brisk; the beach and its aqua blue water was immensely gorgeous. I did a photo shoot on the beach but I accidentally fell off a rock into the waves and got all wet. It was one of the best days of my life!
What’s your favorite modeling photo?
My favorite photo is this one that nicely displays the curvature of my bottom. It was taken in Florence, Italy with one of the most gifted photographers I have worked with. It’s so delicate, sensual and seductive!
What advice would you give to someone interested in modeling?
My experience so far with modeling is that there is a lot of reaching out. I am very passionate about my career [and] reaching out to magazines, to photographers, to agencies, just tying to get work and exposure – and a minority of the time do I even get an answer. There are lots of no’s for a few yes’s; it’s just a numbers game so I am trying to be very persistent because I fervently, wholesomely feel that I can be very successful at this career; it’s just a matter of getting others to notice that.
