Hipster chic has arrived at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino with the recent opening of Oak & Fork, a wine bar and small plate restaurant that is sure to dazzle your tastebuds and excite foodies.
Unlike some wine bars, Oak & Fork hopes to deliver an unpretentious and inviting experience. The menu is designed so that patrons can learn about the wine and food options before they make their order.
Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino is in the midst of a multi-million dollar expansion, which is adding new restaurants, a ballroom and a hotel tower to the casino. Bingo was moved into the main building and the facility has been getting modernized with many new features and fixtures. Throughout the renovations, Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino has been open, and it recently opened this new restaurant as part of the ongoing renovations.
Executive Chef Colin Ribble is behind the menu at Oak & Fork and Beverage Operations Manager Nathan Kinstlinge is behind the amazing wine choices at Oak & Fork. Each of them are delivering delicious offerings that are sure to leave your palate satisfied.
Experience AZ was invited to taste some of the options and wines at Oak & Fork recently. We were presented five dishes with wine pairings.
This charcuterie included many delectable items such as house head cheese, which is Ribble’s personal recipe, bresaola, prosciutto di parma and soppressata. There was also sour cherry, sun-dried strawberries and delectable honey spread to join these tasty treats. This platter was paired with George Duboeuf Beaujolais Villages .
If you don’t like brussels sprouts, then let these brussel chips win you over. Fried with capers until they’re perfectly crispy, these brussels are seasoned with truffle zest and salt and pepper. Oak & Fork paired this treat with a Rosé-Arizona Stronghold Provisioner, which played on the zesty and salty taste of the brussel chips.
This dish must have descended from the heavens, because the heirloom tomatoes were perfectly succulent and the burrata cheese ball was divine. And combined? This dish was the perfect treat, paired with a chardonnay from Trefethen in Napa Valley.
The lobster crab dip was another tasty treat that Oak & Fork will be serving up. The dish is made with mushrooms, onions, parmesan cheese and of course lobster and crab. Each bite is packed with a delicious flavor that will have you craving for more. Oak & Fork paired it with a Kenwood Russian River Valley pinot noir.
If you love shrimp scampi, then you’ll have to try it on this flatbread, which makes this the perfect dish to share with everyone at the table. The eight slices of flatbread are enough to tide you over for a while, and the shrimp tastes fresh. This dish was paired with an Italian wine, the Barone Fini-Trentino-Alto Adige pinot grigio.
