With the holidays right around the corner that means food galore and often falling off track with health and fitness goals. Local trainers at The Body Lab have some simple tips how to keep you on track this holiday season.
• Maintain a Modified Routine: The holiday season is a busy time with parties, shopping and vacations but that doesn’t mean you should stop working out. If your regular workout routine is interrupted focus on the time you do have. Stay productive by planning workout sessions around your busy holiday schedule.
• Portion Control: The holidays are a time to let loose and enjoy your favorite holiday treats but you should never over indulge. Practice portion control. Less is always more.
• Drink Wisely: Alcohol is a diet killer. You can still have fun without drinking all of your calories. Limit your alcohol intake and choose beverages that are not loaded with sugar. Stay hydrated and drink water in between cocktails.
• Stay Positive: Don’t be too hard on yourself if you are treating yourself to one too many holiday desserts. If you’re beginning to fall off track don’t be discouraged. Workout when you can, practice portion control and stay hydrated.
