Following up with last month’s column, I am giving you tips and tricks to make your home fresh and new for spring!
Paint it black
If you are looking for a fresh and elegant look for your home, then the answer is simple- paint all your interior doors black! If your doors are in good condition and good quality, paint them in semi-gloss paint. But if you are worried of showing the flaws, then I would suggest painting with a satin finish paint. Benjamin Moore or Farrow and Ball are my favorite paint companies to turn to when looking for the right black. Quick tip — leave the surround or casing of the door your wall color.
Clean your counters
Put away your toaster, hide the microwave and for all those items you want to leave out on the counter, find attractive containers to put them in. For example, if you use your sugar or flour find a beautiful set of glass containers or white modern containers to store them in. Try these glass containers from Ateriors Home for a clean look, available through jamieshop.com.
Change your hardware
Are you wanting to update your kitchen, but don’t have the time or money to go through an entire renovation? I have an easy solution for you. Change out all the hardware on your cabinetry. It’s an easy way to update the look of your kitchen with little effort. Try something new like polished nickel knobs, or clear glass knobs! I personally am in love with these pulls from Sherle Wagner. Visit jamieshop.com for more hardware choices!
Enjoy your spring cleaning!
Love,
