The Rick Bronson’s House of Comedy pre-show Q-and-A series give you 10 questions of insight into your favorite comedians’ minds.

Self-described “charming, insecure and funny” comedian Brent Morin is bringing his stand-up to Rick Bronson’s new House of Comedy this weekend. Morin has appeared on “Chelsea Lately” and “Conan,” and acted in the NBC comedy series “Undateable.”

When was the moment you realized you wanted to be a comedian?
I guess when I was in college and actually saw it live for the first time. There was something about it that I felt like I could do. It embodied all of the things I loved about creating and performing. So I gave it a shot, bombed and have been doing it ever since.

What was your best (or most embarrassing) moment on stage?
When I first started I would try inviting girls to impress them. Most of the time they wouldn’t show but this particular night one of them did. I was 20 and eager so I wanted to impressed. We hugged before my show, she sat down. I got on stage and decided to try a new joke that I had never done before. I bombed so hard and was SO embarrassed up there that I actually said “Don’t judge me on this performance Allison ha”. Nobody laughed and when the show was over that girl was nowhere to be seen and I never saw her again.

What’s one thing you want people to know about doing stand-up that nobody has ever asked you?
Is it honest? I’d say that’s the one thing I’d want people to ask me. I think some of the best comics come from a real place and I think it shows.

Who is your comedic inspiration?
That’s too hard because of how many people there are. My family and friends to Woody Allen to Louis CK to Kevin Hart to Vince Vaughn to Don Rickles to Robin Williams, etc. Too many to count.

What’s one thing you wished someone had told you about stand-up?
Don’t be scared of silence.

What’s one item you never hit the road without?
My laptop.

What is your favorite city to perform in and why?
Boston. I’m from New England and for me there’s something about the east coast honesty that I really enjoy.

Describe yourself in three words:
Charming, insecure, funny

If you had one day left to live, how would you spend it?
With my funniest friends laughing and making fun of how I have one day to live.

What did you do the last time you were in Phoenix?
Oh, boy. Over a year ago, I’d say. And I’m looking forward to coming back. I love that city.
