“Our focus with these renovations is to create an enhanced guest experience by combining timeless luxury and modern comfort along with some unexpected surprises,” said Justin Simpson, general manager. “This transformation goes beyond just upgrading the hotel rooms by reflecting the exciting energy of the property and providing guests an expansion of the urban retreat experience they’ve come to expect and love at Kimpton Hotel Palomar Phoenix.”
The renovation of the hotel will encompass all of its 242 guestrooms and suites, as well as the guest floor common areas such as the hallways and elevator banks. Guests can look forward to a bespoke design created by Belco Design that embodies both comfort and style, creating a serene, residential-style retreat after a day of enjoying all Kimpton Hotel Palomar Phoenix has to offer. While on-property, guests can enjoy the amenities they’ve come to know and love, including Blue Hound Kitchen & Cocktails, the Eden Bar, and a standout rooftop pool with unobstructed views of the south mountains.
The renovated rooms will feature upgraded bathrooms, refined furnishings, and curated artwork, including an enhanced minibar experience in the premier suites that highlight products from local artisans and businesses, immersing guests in the Phoenix culture and community.
“We are honored to be the design partner for Kimpton Hotel Palomar Phoenix room renovation experience,” said Cristian Schnyder, Principal at Beleco Design. “We believe that every space tells a story – and we are thrilled to bring in a blend of timeless aesthetics with modern functionality to every room. The vision thoughtfully ties in the Arizona desert aesthetic with a focus on textures and finishes to offer guests an environment that feels visually cool and calming as a balance to the intense heat of a summer day.”
The design draws inspiration from Arizona’s landscape and native cultures, featuring abstract patterns that reflect the tradition of hand-woven textiles, clay materials that connect to pottery making, and a deep terracotta color palette inspired by the oxidation of steel that can be found in the city’s modern architecture.
“It is our continued goal to elevate the hospitality experience in Phoenix,” said General Manager Justin Simpson, “and we look forward to showcasing a truly bespoke personal guest experience in a redefined sanctuary not yet seen in downtown Phoenix hotels this Fall.”
During the renovation, accommodations will remain available without disruptions to guest experiences as the property undergoes renovations floor-by-floor, starting with the premier suites on the hotel’s top floors. Exciting guest experiences will continue to debut, and Kimpton Hotel Palomar Phoenix’s popular regularly scheduled programming and events will continue throughout the renovation.
