This summer, L’Auberge de Sedona, the acclaimed creekside retreat nestled among the Red Rocks of Sedona, will undergo a summer renewal process. Come fall, the celebrated dining, spa, and wellness destination will unveil an enhanced creekside arrival experience, upgraded luxury guest accommodations, elevated dining offerings – fueled by a new state-of-the-art kitchen, and a completely new indoor-outdoor bar area, which will bring the essence of the admired Oak Creek into each guests’ relaxation and dining experience.
As part of the multi-million dollar renewal, L’Auberge de Sedona is creating an incredible first impression for guests with a completely new arrival and welcome experience that will serve as a corridor to Oak Creek. The friendly boutique reception space will be lined with spanning windows, offering a stunning vantage point to the creekside setting. The interior will feature a fresh contrast of light walls, rustic hardwood flooring and lush, comfortable seating, where guests can relax or enjoy a board game or book from the many open bookcases that will line the lobby walls.
Just past the reception area, the hotel’s Wine Spectator award-winning bar will undergo renovations to uncover a unique indoor-outdoor experience, where guests can further interact with the destination’s creekside location. The inside bar area will feature a floor-to- ceiling window backdrop, providing expansive views, sounds and smells of Oak Creek, an ideal setting for relaxing over wine, cocktails, and small plates with friends and loved ones. Rustic elements with modern details will accentuate the newly designed bar area, which will include large-scaled leather lounge chairs and a beautiful exterior deck that will welcome guests with cozy chairs and fireside tables.
The main restaurant will open to the creek to offer unparalleled al fresco dining experiences. In line with the rest of the summer renewal, the restaurant will sport a rustic yet modern feel, including new tables with wood finishes, a variety of unique chair styles, and a large display table that will be used to highlight Chef’s specialties. It will also include two new private dining spaces. Additionally, L’Auberge de Sedona’s main interior kitchen will undergo an expansion, including a custom Vulcan Suite designed by Executive Chef Rochelle Daniel to match her elevated culinary vision, which will result in the debut of a new full-service dining venue this fall.
Finally, the property’s 30 creekside and garden cottages will undergo an extensive interior design transformation boasting new furniture, fixtures, design features, flooring and bathrooms. The new color palette of the cottages will reflect the relaxing and rejuvenating aura of the property, with cool shades of water blue contrasting light paneled walls. The rooms will maintain the cottage feel, with the warmth and traditional character of crisp painted paneling, contrasting with rustic light colored hardwood floors, and dark wood poster beds with crisp white linens placed on large scale patterned area rugs, giving the sense of home on the creek. Guests will be able to enjoy a peaceful dinner for two in the comfort of their room at wood dining tables with wicker chairs, or put up their feet by their personal brick fireplace. Large beveled white tiled baths will provide an alternative to indoor or private outdoor shower offerings.
The property will carefully enhance a few cottages at a time throughout the summer months to eliminate disturbance to guests and to have new rooms coming available throughout the season. Guests will not only enjoy the new design and feel of the cottages, but also modern “smart” features including automated lighting and air conditioning controls, as well as the latest state-of-the-art IP television offerings.
“We are looking forward to welcoming guests throughout the summer months, as we enhance L’Auberge de Sedona. Summer is an opportune season to make interior updates to our hospitality areas and accommodations, as the majority of our guests spend their time in the sunshine. Guests will continue to be able to dine creekside and enjoy Northern Arizona’s beautiful weather – perfect for taking in the sights and enjoying outdoor activities. We are also reenergizing our guest programming offerings and will be debuting new activities and offerings in June, leading into our renewal phase,” says Jesse Alexander, General Manager of L’Auberge de Sedona.
While the interior updates are taking place on property, L’Auberge de Sedona will transform the previously exclusive five-bedroom Creekhouse into a warm and inviting guest arrival experience. Perched on the banks of Oak Creek, visitors will be welcomed inside by the front desk and concierge teams with seasonal refreshments, while also having the opportunity to enjoy chef’s acclaimed bites and beverages while soaking in the sights on the luxurious creekside patio.
“The property will continue to celebrate summer with a variety of new, interactive activities including lawn games by the creek, as well as new culinary offerings including daily brunch at the Restaurant at Oak Creek, a poolside happy hour with special L’Apothecary cocktails, and more,” said Alexander.
The L’Auberge Restaurant at Oak Creek will remain open throughout the summer renewal for breakfast, lunch and dinner, which will be prepared at a beautiful, full kitchen ideally situated creekside, where Chef Daniel will introduce new seasonal menu items including locally sourced and personally foraged ingredients.
This summer, the restaurant will also launch daily brunch, where guests can dine al fresco while enjoying creekside breakfast stations and a la carte morning favorites. Sunday brunch will be enhanced with the introduction of a weekly Farmer’s Market Feast, which will include unique stations featuring local purveyors, such as cheese, honeys, and in-house made mustards and jams. A daily a la carte lunch menu will also be available.
Fresh and creative culinary programming will extend beyond the Restaurant at Oak Creek to new picnic-style in-room dining offerings, providing delicious accompaniments for Red Rock hikes or strolls through town. The resort is also partnering with local winery, Page Springs, to create a custom wine label and new in-room wine offerings. Thoughtful food offerings will also pair well with the resort’s new social gaming opportunities, which will be offered from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday through Sunday, allowing guests to play croquet and enjoy a glass of rosé, among other games, libations and treats. The resort also plans to liven up the pool scene with a daily poolside happy hour featuring custom, L’Apothecary cocktails, Page Springs stocked wine wagons and poolside dining menus, allowing guests to enjoy their favorite drinks and dishes without leaving the comfort of their lounge chairs.
This new summer programming will be in addition to the many daily activities offered at L’Auberge de Sedona year-round, including morning yoga sessions, moonlit meditation, guided GM jogs, Hike House consultations, and more. The recently enhanced Spa at L’Auberge will also be unaffected during the summer renewal, offering the popular L’Apothecary blending station, where guests can select from a plethora of powerful ingredients native to the destination, to create custom body care products. Guests can also take advantage of the new L’Apothecary spa treatments, such as Feet in the Creek and Quiet Mind, as well as new experiences, including the newly launched Forest Bathing program.
