Bobby-Q Great Steaks & Real BBQ has been named the one of the Best Barbecue Restaurants in America, as voted by OpenTable diners. One of only 30 restaurants nationwide to earn this prestigious honor as part of the 2014 OpenTable Diners’ Choice awards, Bobby-Q was selected after analyzing more than five million reviews of nearly 19,000 restaurants across the country – all submitted by verified diners. The world’s largest online reservation company, OpenTable seats more than 15 million people per month across more than 31,000 restaurants.

“The recipients of these inaugural awards have elevated the craft of barbecue to a form of edible art,” says Caroline Potter, OpenTable Chief Dining Officer. “With patience and passion, the pitmasters at each of the winning restaurants are using their expertise to transform even the most humble cut of meat into a smoky and tender fare to remember.” The complete list includes notable restaurants in 12 states and Washington, D.C., with six award winners in California, followed by Illinois and New York with five each, Texas with four, and Ohio with two; Arizona, Colorado, Maryland, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Washington, D.C., and Wisconsin are also represented. The complete list may also be viewed at http://www.opentable.com/m/best-BBQ-restaurants-in-america.

And the accolades keep coming, as Bobby-Q also received a 2014 Certificate of Excellence by TripAdvisor.com, and is ranked #3 out of the 2,565 restaurants listed across Greater Phoenix.

So what makes Bobby-Q such a standout? Bobby-Q owner, Bob Sikora is a true BBQ aficionado, spending more than 10 years researching cooking techniques from the masters across the country. The secret lies in the slow cooking process over Almond and Mesquite wood and the perfect blend of spices in the dry rub. This results in succulent hand pulled pork, smoky sausage links, fork-tender brisket, and ribs that fall right off the bone. Three different ribs are offered (St. Louis, Texas Beef and Baby Back) as well as chicken, salmon, burgers, and hand-cut steaks. Nestled in a charmingly rustic setting, Bobby Q’s building features reclaimed woodwork with exposed brick walls, antique gas lamps, and 10-foot vintage French doors.

“When you’ve been in the restaurant business as long as I have been, you learn you’re only as good as your staff,” Bob Sikora says. “So I’d like to recognized Chef Mark Hittle, managers Laura and Ignacio, and my entire staff for their resilience and their dedication to Bobby-Q’s and our valued customers. Thank you for this incredible honor.”
