Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia introduces a newly constructed 4,000 square foot Chef’s Kitchen & Herb Garden this month. Not only will the garden provide fresh, local produce and herbs for use at the resort’s culinary outlets, including its flagship restaurant Prado, but the space will also serve as an exceptional venue for high-end experiential events focusing on indigenous cuisine, fitness, wellness and spa-related activities. Offering sweeping views of Camelback Mountain, the Chef’s Kitchen & Herb Garden will also be ideal for private dinners, intimate weddings, executive-sized meetings, banquet events, charity receptions, and more.
“We took great care in constructing Chef’s Kitchen & Herb Garden, reflecting Omni Hotels & Resort’s brand-wide commitment to providing superior culinary and leisure experiences for our discerning guests,” said Managing Director, Paul Eckert. “We’re the only resort in Scottsdale to offer an indoor and outdoor kitchen and event space of this caliber and scale, allowing guests to not only indulge in the best and most flavorful ingredients grown locally, but also to fully enjoy the convivial and communal atmosphere created by Omni Scottsdale Resort.
Complementing the new venue, guests will be invited to expand their horizons and enjoy a variety of daily experiential events in the Chef’s Kitchen & Herb Garden, including indoor hot yoga classes, mediation sessions, wine and tapas tastings, cooking demonstrations, and wellness packages – inclusive of a juicing class – under the expertise of Executive Chef Michael Cairns and Chef de Cuisine Tom Vykulil. Opportunities for exclusive and romantic couples activities such as “Dinner Under the Stars” and “Dinner and a Movie” will be offered in the new space as well.
The Chef’s Kitchen & Herb Garden joins the property’s multiple outdoor venues, including Camelback Suite, Valencia Lawn, Kasbah Patio, Cortijo Plaza, and the Andalusian Suite. The space has the capacity to welcome up to 75 people for catered receptions, encompassing both the indoor and outdoor areas. Saturated by natural light from the custom Spanish doorways, the large indoor Chef’s Kitchen features a display induction cooking island, custom millwork, hammered brass finishes, and Sub-Zero & Wolf appliances.
The 2,500 square-foot outdoor Herb Garden will grow its own citrus trees and herbs such as sage, rosemary, basil, cilantro, and a variety of exotic mints, including chocolate mint. Seasonal plantings in the garden will bear summer squashes, heirloom tomatoes, and fall root vegetables as well, and will be utilized in the property’s cuisine including their signature wood-fired dishes, daily paellas, and tapas. Omni Scottsdale Resort’s in-house horticulturist and landscaper will oversee seasonal plantings at the Herb Garden in conjunction with Executive Chef Cairns. The Herb Garden will also serve as an ideal location for intimate wedding ceremonies between 25 and 30 guests, with Camelback Mountain as the backdrop and the interior acting as the reception area.
