The esteemed James Beard House has invited local Chef Dustin Christofolo of Quiessence at The Farm at South Mountain, to cook at an event on May 20, 2016.

Chefs invited to cook in the house are selected by the director of house programing at The James Beard House by demonstrating excellence in their discipline, are known to use high quality, seasonal and/or local ingredients and have gained a national or regional reputation.

Christofolo, along with seven kitchen staff, will travel to New York, NY representing Arizona cuisine during a dinner for more than 75 attendees.

On the five-course menu, Christofolo will incorporate several local purveyors including: AZ Fine Swine, Two Wash Ranch, McClendon’s Select, Black Mesa Ranch, Maya’s at The Farm at South Mountain, Queen Creek Olive Mill and Danzeisen Dairy.

Arizona wines will be paired with each course from wineries including Keenan-Caduceus Cellars, Dos Cabezas Wine Works, Callaghan Vineyards, Sand Reckoner Vineyards, Pillsbury Wine Company.

“It was important for me to highlight on my James Beard House menu how we eat in Arizona and how many great, local businesses contribute to the dishes that I create. Having this opportunity to cook for some of the best in the industry is an honor,” Christofolo said.
