After much anticipation, several months of construction and more than 300 creative patio name submissions the corner of Rio Salado Parkway and Mill Avenue is proud to welcome Tempe’s Front Porch on April 4.

image001A call went out to the community in January to find the coolest, hippest name for the new urban patio concept which is located just outside of Monti’s and faces Tempe Town Lake. After sorting through hundreds of creative entries, the winning name “Tempe’s Front Porch,” came from Valley residents Sean Donovan and Klayton Roark in two separate entries.

The contest winners will each receive a complimentary party in April for 20 friends on TFP featuring selected drinks and menu options.

“Sean and Klayton really described what we want this 2,000 square foot patio to be, Tempe’s Front Porch,” said TFP owner Michael Monti. “It’s outside and faces the beautiful backdrop of Tempe Beach Park and Tempe Town Lake. It has that comfortable front porch feel with seating for 130 people, three cozy fire pits, a fun urban bar and just a great place to sit and enjoy the best of views in Tempe.”

image007TFP will feature a traditional lunch menu, along with a tapas style dinner menu of Modern Latin Cuisine by Executive Chef Jimmy Hernandez. In addition, guests can enjoy the specialty drink menu along with 13 specialty craft beers revolving on the taps.

A traditional lunch menu will also be available starting at 11 a.m. every day. Tempe’s Front Porch will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday – Thursday and 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Weekend hours are expected to increase as the popularity of the patio grows.
