Upcoming Scottsdale restaurant blends fast food with healthy ingredients
‘Fast food’ will never be the same now that Modern Market is bringing its craveable (and affordable) menu of all-natural breakfast, lunch and dinner favorites, all served up quickly inside a stylish rustic-modern setting, to Scottsdale later this month.
Scheduled to open on Monday, Feb. 27 inside a revitalized midcentury modern building at the northeast corner of Scottsdale Road and Highland Avenue. Modern Market features clean, simple food made from-scratch with locally sourced ingredients, ordered from a counter and served fast.
Plus, as part of the restaurant’s mission to prove that fast food can be good food, all Modern Market entrees costs around $10. Modern Market is a Denver-based restaurant concept. This upcoming Scottsdale location is the first Modern Market in Arizona, but more restaurants will soon be announced.
Even tastier, Modern Market Scottsdale will also be hosting a grand opening contest on February 27, where the first 100 guests through the door will be entered to win free Modern Market food for one year. Modern Market in Scottsdale will be open daily from 8 a.m. – 9 p.m., and serves breakfast until 11 a.m. daily.
Modern Market takes an all-inclusive approach to food and health, with a focus on food quality. By making food from scratch, Modern Market avoids added sugar and bad fats, and through attention to sourcing, it rules out chemicals and dangerous ingredients no one can pronounce. (The company searched for two years to find pickles that did not contain sodium benzoate).
Modern Market gets its ingredients from Valley favorites such as Cartel Coffee Lab, Abby Lee Farms, Four Peaks Brewing, Duncan Family Farms and Shamrock Foods. Modern Market also proudly uses organic Bianco de Napoli crushed tomatoes on its pizzas, aka the boutique cannery co-founded by famed Phoenix pizzaiolo, Chris Bianco.
Sustainability applies to more than just the food at Modern Market. Owners Anthony Pigliacampo and Rob McColgan believe in a sustainable staff as well, paying a living wage and providing meals for employees on the job. Furthermore, Modern Market Scottsdale’s location is an adaptive reuse of a historic midcentury modern bank, and is set to breath new life into this stunning setting thanks to an artful remodel that mixes rustic woods, vintage light fixtures and cozy seating with the sleek, bustling backdrop.
Modern Market tempts with a wide variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner options to prevent menu fatigue. Breakfast includes egg platters, egg sandwiches and scrambles made with cage-free eggs and nitrate-free meats as well as whole grain waffles. Beyond handmade soups and fresh salads packed with superfoods, Modern Market serves home-style platters: a perfectly balanced plate of proteins, vegetable and starch.
Expect toasted sandwiches on fresh-baked bread and brick oven pizza made with high protein crust and cheese made without chemicals. The including of vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and kids’ dishes make it easy for groups and families to eat together without breaking the bank. All Modern Market entrees cost around $10.
