The home of the most authentic Baja-style Shrimp and Fish Tacos, Tortilla Fish plans to more than quadruple its business over the next two years.

Locally owned and Valley based Tortilla Fish, which has garnered 5-Star reviews since opening its first location in Tempe two years ago, has announced a second location opening at 44th Street and Thomas in the Arcadia Center by mid-October.

Owner Francisco Peralta, who brings his authentic Sonoran recipes to the Valley says four additional locations are also planned over the next two years across Scottsdale, the southeast and west valley.

Peralta credits his expansion with a soar in business that has come from the popularity of his great “taco fish” tradition from Sonora. The Tortilla Fish owner says great care is taken to ensure his fish tacos are always fresh and the recipe stays authentic.

“The fish machaca and beef barbacoa are authentic recipes that have been passed down from my family,” said Francisco Peralta, owner of Tortilla Fish. “They are same flavors and fresh ingredients I grew up eating, and the same flavor profile you will find in the battered fish and shrimp tacos you often get in Ensenada and Rosarito Mexico.  We have people come in every day saying they haven’t tasted these flavors for years and we’re just proud to offer them right here in the Valley.”

Customers at the new Thomas location of Tortilla Fish will still enjoy the same battered fish and shrimp tacos, steamed Fish Machaca and Barbacoa, but they will also see a few additions to the menu like rice, and carne asada.  With the average price around $3 and larger than a standard street taco size, Peralta says it only takes about two of his tacos, three at the most to fill up especially when you “LOAD ‘EM UP’’ at the salsa bar.

The Salsa Bar also returns with a Baja-Style Cole Slaw (not sweet), fresh cabbage, onions, cilantro, japalenos, Pico de Gallo, home-made mild, hot and extra hot sauces and signature home-made Cilantro, Avocado and Chipotle Dressings.
