Sandbox VR,  the world’s premier venue for virtual reality experiences, is expanding to Arizona with plans to open its first Valley location this spring with additional venues planned across the state over the next year. The expansion will be led by franchisees Andrew Perkinson and Tylor Hardy, childhood friends and college roommates who, after decade long careers in institutional real estate, reunited to bring Sandbox VR to the Valley.

Designed as a premium, ticketed entertainment destination, Sandbox VR’s cutting-edge technology tracks your movements and lets you feel the action, allowing for a breathtakingly realistic experience that dissolves the boundary between audience and story. By leveraging strategic partnerships with platforms like Netflix, guests can step beyond the screen, transforming viewers into active participants in the stories they love.

“The magic of Sandbox VR lies at the intersection of these IPs and characters we love, the people we love to play with, and this incredible sensory environment,” says Matthew Kellie, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Sandbox VR. “ There is no other experience on earth that can so completely immerse and transport you to another time & place.  Sandbox VR is the world’s premier immersion technology, you’re really inside the story in a way that you can’t get anywhere else.  It’s exhilarating.”

Sandbox VR’s proprietary technology allows guests to see and physically interact with one another in worlds that feel impossibly real. Following the experience, guests receive a personalized cinematic trailer of their experience, capturing moments they can relive and share. Experiences are designed for groups of two to six people, making Sandbox VR an ideal destination for date nights, family fun, birthday parties, bachelor/bachelorette celebrations, social outings, and corporate retreats. The venues are purpose-built for group engagement, making them a compelling alternative to traditional off-site meetings. Businesses can host team-building events that encourage collaboration, problem-solving, and connection in a setting that feels energizing rather than routine.

“From day one, Sandbox VR stood out as the clear leader in immersive, social entertainment with its world-class technology, intuitive design, and cutting-edge experiences that are accessible to everyone,” says Perkinson. “Phoenix deserves next-level entertainment, and Sandbox VR delivers that better than anyone in the industry. Our goal is to create venues that feel welcoming and local, while delivering the same world-class experiences Sandbox VR is known for globally. This is only the beginning for Sandbox VR in Phoenix, and the runway is massive.”

The first Arizona Sandbox VR venue is slated to open this spring, with additional locations to be announced in the months ahead.
