Mesa, Ariz.-based Fuchsia Spa, a concept designed for the everyday woman to indulge in affordable, yet high-end spa services monthly, has announced the breaking ground of its first franchise location, which is set to open in Phoenix this year.
Long-time Fuchsia employee Shauna Owens, 30, and her sister Marissa Owens, 28, signed a lease in July for a 2,380-square-foot space at High Street, a premier urban dining and entertainment destination in northeast Phoenix. The day spa, which places an emphasis on results-driven skincare, is scheduled to open in November 2015.
“Owning a Fuchsia spa has been a dream of mine since I began working there as an aesthetician more than eight years ago,” said Shauna Owens. “Being able to start this adventure with my sister, who shares the same love for the spa industry as I do, is an added bonus. We are honored to play a role in taking Fuchsia to the next level and establishing it as a driving force in the thriving, $14 billion spa industry.
Coming from a family of successful entrepreneurs, Arizona natives Shauna and Marissa Owens each bring a unique set of skills, education and experience to the Fuchsia brand.
During her time at Fuchsia, Shauna Owens served as the lead aesthetician, staying at the forefront of new skincare trends and technologies, and worked with Fuchsia co-founders to develop Fuchsia’s exclusive skincare line. With a deep understanding and passion for providing top-rate service, Shauna Owens took on the role of guest services manager and now oversees training for both the guest services and aesthetics teams.
Marissa Owens brings to Fuchsia her experience in business management, accounting, customer service and human resources – skills she acquired from working as an office manager for a small family practice, and while working in various departments of her parents’ construction company. Additionally, she boasts a business degree from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University.
Fuchsia offers an array of services including massage, facial, waxing, nail services, custom airbrush tans and some of the most coveted skincare and body treatments. The day spa also utilizes its own Fuchsia Advanced Skin Care line, available exclusively at Fuchsia Spas.
“Shauna was there the day Erin and I opened the doors to Fuchsia Spa more than eight years ago, and has since played an integral role in the success of the concept,” said Lisa Vukonich, co-founder, Fuchsia Spa. “We are delighted to stand by her as she and her sister make their dreams of owning their own business a reality.”
Co-founders Vukonich and Erin Owens opened Fuchsia Spa in Mesa, Ariz. in November 2006 after leaving corporate America, with a single location. With the U.S. spa industry now valued at more than $14 billion, the duo has shifted their focus to turning Fuchsia into a national spa brand.
