Regional Foundation Repair recently analyzed 58,735 posts and 354,927 comments on the popular Nextdoor app in 50 of America’s biggest cities to find the most popular Nextdoor topic in each city as well as the top complaints in each city. To find out, researchers analyzed 58,735 posts and 354,972 comments on the Nextdoor app in 50 of America’s biggest cities. In each city, researchers looked at the most popular neighborhood as the focal point for our research in that area. As diverse and unique as cities across the country are, researchers were able to find the most popular topics neighbors discuss, from dogs and cats to creepers and construction.

Key findings for Phoenix:

  • The most popular topic neighbors in Phoenix discuss is dogs followed by traffic complaints. 
  • Nationally, dogs, cats, and parking issues are the most popular topics neighbors discuss.

Phoenix rankings:

  • Phoenix ranks #3 for the cities where neighbors complain the most about smells and trash. 
  • Phoenix ranks #4 for the cities where neighbors complain the most about dog waste and poop. 
  • Phoenix ranks #5 for the cities where neighbors discuss cameras and video surveillance the most. 
  • Phoenix ranks #6 for the cities where neighbors complain the most about construction. 
  • Phoenix ranks #7 for the cities where neighbors complain the most about traffic. 

Other key findings:

  • Dogs, cats, and parking are the most popular topics neighbors discuss.
  • Raleigh, Oakland, and Virginia Beach are the cities with the most barking complaints.
  • Arizona has two of the smelliest cities: Mesa at #1 and Phoenix at #3.
  • Albuquerque, Omaha, and Tulsa have the most creepers. 
  • California seems to have the worst traffic of all, with Sacramento, San Jose, and Fresno being the top three cities where neighbors complain about traffic the most.
