The world-famous Disneyland in California is an absolute treat for all ages, and it should be on your itinerary if you are visiting the area for the first time. There is so much you can see or do in this park. Disneyland Park has shown, such as parades, fireworks, and special events. As you walk through this park, it’s easy to let aching feet, crying kids, and an overwhelming crowd to come between you and your trip. This article gives you some of the essential Disneyland tips to make your trip more fun and memorable.

Plan ahead

There are over 50 attractions between these two parks if you exclude the shops, restaurants, and shows. So it is good to plan in advance on how to visit these places. Plan on any dinner reservations you may have or parades and nighttime shows that you may want to see.  You should also figure out the FastPasses that you want to visit first. It is always good to do a little bit of research, especially if you are visiting the part for the first time. Just remember not to be too rigid with your plan; there might be changes like the weather or with some activities.

Buy tickets online

When you purchase tickets beforehand, you can go straight through the entrance of the parks, without having to wait in line at the ticket sales booth. This can save you time, especially if it’s a busy day. Another benefit to buying in advance is finding access to deals and discount Disneyland tickets, instead of paying full price after arriving at The Happiest Place on Earth.

Stay close

To get the most out of Disneyland trip, you should stay close. Booking a hotel within Disneyland Parks means that you won’t have to deal with traffic or with the Disney parking lot. That will give you enough time to explore the parks. There are three on-site hotels in the park; they include Disneyland hotel, Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel, and Disney’s Californian Hotel.  They are all creatively-themed with excellent Disney touches.

If you can’t stay on property, then stay nearby

There are offsite hotels nearby that are less than a 5-minute walk to the Esplanade that connect the entrances of Disney California Adventure and Disneyland Park. If you stay nearby, you will not pay for parking at Disneyland, and you won’t lose time in the parking lot or wait for shuttles.

Dress comfortably

Taking a trip to Disneyland should not be a fashion show; if anything, comfort exceeds style in this case. Choose a pair of shoes that will provide you with comfort even after eight hours of walking. Wear a hat and sunglasses during the day when there’s too much sun. You should also carry along a sweatshirt. Carry an extra pair of socks if you plan on riding Grizzly River Run or Splash Mountain.

Use FastPass

The FastPass is among the best ways to maximize your time at Disneyland. For starters, there are certain attractions in these two parks that allow you to insert your park ticket, and then you get a pass called FastPass, which gives you a return time to the specific attraction. You can then tour the park then come back through the FastPass Return Line for a minimal wait.

Know where to find your favorite characters

Even though some of Disney characters have their own stations where you can meet them, most of them are listed on the official sites with published times. However, with the appropriate strategies, you may land that meeting with them to meet them. The Disneyland Mobile App provides you with the locations of all the characters.

Time is everything

If you want to make the most out of your Disneyland, then you should value time. Arrive early at the entrance to avoid lines. Lines are short during morning hours. If you can stay awake for a few hours, you can enjoy late Fantasmic and World of Color shows, which are usually less crowded at that time.  You can also enjoy attractions around Frontierland and New Orleans Square during Fantasmic as they are less crowded this period.
