At Urban Fraîche, living well begins at the table, but it does not end there. At the Phoenix restaurant, menus change with the ingredients available each day. Wild-caught seafood, naturally raised meats, seasonal produce and richly flavored Mediterranean dishes arrive without seed oils, added sugars or artificial colors. The experience is meant to feel generous and celebratory, with music, art and Egyptian hospitality woven throughout the evening.

A few blocks away, the Urban Fraîche Lifestyle Center carries that same spirit into a different setting, exploring how the spaces, objects and rituals of everyday life can influence how people feel. Together, the two spaces reflect the vision of owner and executive chef Dean Waziry, who sees Urban Fraîche as a culture built around food, creativity, community and care for the body, mind and soul.

“The food is where people first meet Urban Fraîche, but it is really just the beginning,” Waziry said. “It is also about how people gather, how they care for themselves and what they bring into their everyday lives. We want everyone to feel welcome and leave inspired to think differently about what living well can look like.”

The concept arrives as more Americans pay attention to what goes into their food. According to the International Food Information Council’s 2025 Food & Health Survey, 80% of Americans consider whether a food has been processed before purchasing it.

Urban Fraîche avoids heavily processed foods, seed oils, processed sugars, artificial coloring, farmed seafood and meats raised with antibiotics. The restaurant also limits plastic food storage and harsh chemicals throughout its operation. Rather than focusing on what is missing, the kitchen emphasizes freshness, sourcing and flavor.

“When ingredients are real, fresh and properly sourced, the food already has color, flavor and character,” Waziry said. “The indulgence comes from the quality of what you are eating and the care behind it.”

That approach shapes dishes designed for a night out, including lamb shoulder, braised curry goat, beef Wellington, lobster ravioli, foie gras, baklava and rice pudding. Because the menu changes daily, the kitchen can follow the season and work with ingredients at their best.

Across the restaurant and lifestyle center, the Urban Fraîche approach includes:

  • Clean ingredients. The kitchen avoids seed oils, processed sugars, artificial colors, farmed seafood, heavily processed foods and meats raised with antibiotics.
  • Daily-changing menus. Dishes are created around the best available ingredients, giving the kitchen room to cook with the season.
  • Intentional sourcing. The menu emphasizes wild-caught seafood, naturally raised meats and organic or locally sourced produce whenever available.
  • Elevated dining. Clean food is presented as colorful, generous and worthy of celebration, rather than restrictive or clinical.
  • Whole-person wellness. The Urban Fraîche philosophy connects food with clarity, energy, creativity, emotional well-being and human connection.
  • Lifestyle expansion. The Urban Fraîche Lifestyle Center brings the philosophy beyond the restaurant through art, design, natural goods, wellness and intentional living.

Inside the lifestyle center, the conversation shifts from food to the environments and everyday choices that shape how people live. Art, innovation, natural materials and thoughtful design come together in a space intended to spark curiosity rather than prescribe a single version of wellness.

“It is all connected,” Waziry said. “You cannot separate the way you eat from the way you think, the spaces you spend time in or the things you surround yourself with. The lifestyle center gives us room to explore all of that.”

Balance remains central to the Urban Fraîche philosophy. Healthy living is not framed as a set of rigid rules, but as an opportunity to bring nourishment, beauty, freedom and meaningful experiences into everyday life. That spirit also shapes the community surrounding Urban Fraîche. Guests come for dinner, celebrations and special occasions, but Waziry hopes they leave feeling part of something larger than a typical restaurant experience.

“I want people to leave thinking, ‘There is a better lifestyle waiting for me,’” Waziry said. “That does not mean changing everything overnight. It may begin with one meal, one product, one conversation or one better decision.”
