Banner|Aetna names market head of sales
Banner|Aetna, the Arizona health care company owned by Banner Health and Aetna, announced that Jon Dingledine has joined the team as the new market head of sales.
“We’re eager to bring on Jon’s passion and strong leadership skills to further escalate the growth trajectory of Banner|Aetna in the Arizona market,” said Tom Grote, CEO of Banner|Aetna. “Not only has he spearheaded success for Aetna’s Colorado market, but he also has experience on the consulting side, giving him a unique perspective on how to best align with our broker and consultant community.”
As market head of sales, Dingledine will lead sales and service operations for both commercial and public & labor markets. Prior to joining the Banner|Aetna team, Dingledine served as market head of sales at Aetna in Colorado.
“Jon has moved the needle for Aetna as market head of sales since 2016,” said Grote. “He really understands what our clients are looking for when it comes to health care and we’re excited to welcome him to the Banner|Aetna team.”
Dr. Terry Badger inducted into International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame
On July 27, Terry Badger, PhD, RN, University of Arizona College of Nursing, will be inducted into Sigma Foundation for Nursing’s 2019 International Researcher Hall of Fame.
Dr. Badger, who also is the Eleanor Bauwens Endowed Chair, will join 23 other nurse researchers from the United States, Australia, Canada and Sweden to be recognized during Sigma’s 30th International Nursing Research Congress in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Dr. Badger, also chair of the Division of Community and Systems Health Science at the College, is being recognized for her substantive research focusing on depression, symptom management and quality of life among cancer survivors and their families. She is conducting research testing theory-based methods to decrease psychological distress associated with cancer and its treatment and improve quality of life and symptom management for cancer survivors and their families during and after cancer treatment.
Mission of Mercy appoints new CEO
Mission of Mercy, a national nonprofit dedicated to providing free primary medical care and medications to those in need in Arizona, Maryland/Pennsylvania and Texas, has named Antonio “Tony” Banegas CEO effective immediately. He will lead the organization from Mission of Mercy’s office in Phoenix.
“Mission of Mercy’s board of directors looks forward to Tony leading our organization into a new phase of expansion, providing more free healthcare services in all three regions while continuing our mission of ‘restoring dignity and healing through Love,’” said Andy Crocker, chair of Mission of Mercy’s national board of directors. “Tony’s enthusiasm for our mission, as well as his experience working in management positions for successful nonprofits, will be an asset to our organization and aid all of our clinic sites.”
Banegas brings more than 25 years of experience in leadership roles with various nonprofits, including the Arizona Community Foundation, Arizona’s Children Association, Southwest Human Development and Children First Foundation. Banegas also served as honorary consul of his birth country of Honduras in Arizona for a decade. He is fluent in Spanish.
Mark Dymek appointed SVP of acquisitions
Mark Dymek has been named Senior Vice President of Acquisitions and Financing for Grossman Company Properties (GCP), a preeminent real estate developer in the Western United States, with key focus on acquisitions, development, leasing, finance, management, construction and consulting.
Dymek brings a wealth of real estate expertise to his new position at GCP, spanning complex deal structuring, investment property sales & acquisitions, mortgage loan sales & acquisitions and management of private equity funds. Most recently, Mark served as Managing Director of Eastdil Secured / Wells Fargo (Phoenix, Los Angeles, Chicago), previously serving as Senior Vice President of The Mills Corporation (Washington D.C.) and Secured Capital Corp (Los Angeles – predecessor organization to Eastdil Secured). Dymek began his career as a Senior Accountant with Price Waterhouse in the Greater Phoenix Market upon earning his Bachelor’s Degree from Arizona State University.

Avondale councilmember named to WESTMARC board
Avondale Councilmember Mike Pineda will represent Avondale on WESTMARC’s Board of Directors.
WESTMARC, a coalition of public, private and education leaders, is committed to the West Valley’s economic vitality and enhanced quality of life. WESTMARC’s Board of Directors, representing all three sectors of the membership, set the strategic direction for the organization. Pineda was named to the Board last month.
Elected in 2016, Councilmember Pineda is serving his first four-year term on the City Council. He previously served on the Littleton Elementary School District’s Governing Board, in the capacity of member, Vice President and President during his tenure. Currently, Council member Pineda serves on the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) Economic Development Committee and the Human Services Coordinating Committee. He is also part of the Avondale Council Subcommittee for Boards & Commissions and serves on the Estrella Mountain Community College Business Advisory Board.
