Creighton University-Arizona appoints executive director
Jacqueline A. Chadwick, M.D., has assumed the position of founding executive director of the Creighton University-Arizona Health Education Alliance.
The Alliance seeks to expand and improve health care education and training opportunities for medical students throughout the state.
The 35-year family physician and longtime medical educator and administrator’s new role took effect July 30. She is the former vice dean for Educational Affairs and Accreditation at the Texas Christian University and University of North Texas Health Science Center School of Medicine, and joins the Alliance as part of a distinguished career in education, administration and advocacy.
“I am honored to work with the Alliance partners in developing this unique consortium for residency programs and health professions,” said Dr. Chadwick of her new appointment. “St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, Maricopa Integrated Health System and District Medical Group have long been invested in medical education, and this enhanced relationship with Creighton University will offer exciting new opportunities for educating health care students for the future.”
While Dr. Chadwick returns to Arizona by way of Texas, she has an extensive track record in Arizona’s health care education system and improving learning opportunities and outcomes for Arizona students. Once the first female president of the Arizona Medical Association, she also served as vice dean for Academic Affairs at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Phoenix, where she proved instrumental in launching its clinical campus and then transitioning it into a separate, accredited medical school under the University of Arizona umbrella.
