Waste Management named environmental wellness partner

The Chandler Chamber Ostrich Festival announced Waste Management as the environmental wellness partner for the 31st anniversary event. This will be the second year in a row that the festival has partnered with Waste Management, furthering the festival’s commitment to supporting the local community through sustainable practices.

As a result of this partnership, the Ostrich Festival will offer recycling for the second time in the event’s 31-year history, last year being the first. Waste Management will provide recycling receptacles that will be placed throughout the festival, affording guests the opportunity to help the Chandler Chamber eliminate waste by doing their part to protect the environment.

“The Chandler Chamber of Commerce takes great pride in our initiatives to keep the city of Chandler clean and sustainable” said Terri Kimble, CEO of the Chandler Chamber of Commerce. “Our partnership with Waste Management highlights the exciting ways in which the Ostrich Festival continues to progress towards a more eco-friendly and sustainable footprint.”

In addition, Waste Management will be hosting a Touch-a-Truck exhibit at the festival on Saturday, March 9 and Sunday, March 10 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Touch-a-Truck exhibit will allow kids of all ages to explore a Waste Management dump truck, and speak to the men and women who operate the vehicles and provide essential services to the community.
