The Ak-Chin Indian Community UltraStar Multi-tainment Center at Ak-Chin Circle and Central Plant has been named the AZ Water Association’s 2014 Water Reuse Project of the Year. The two buildings were recognized for their efficient use of reclaimed water.

 

“This is a great example of environmental sustainability and water conservation that we strive for in our Community” said Ak-Chin Tribal Chairman Louis J. Manuel, Jr. “I am honored and proud of our team for being recognized.”

 

The AZ Water Association has been recognizing outstanding engineering design and construction accomplishments of its members with the Project of the Year Awards since

2003.  The award was presented at the AZ Water Association’s 87th Annual Conference & Exhibition Welcome & Awards Breakfast held at the Glendale Renaissance Hotel & Spa

 

Water Operations Manager Ray Pulver accepted the award on behalf of the Ak-Chin Indian Community along with representatives from A.R. Mays, who provided the construction for the project.

 

This project was selected for its solutions, identified as a project that produced secondary benefits of value to the community, as well as being an economical and cost-effective solution for the community.

 

The Ak-Chin Indian Community constantly considers the effects on the environment with all new projects, and tries to be as environmentally friendly as possible, as well as being the best value option for the community.
