Mike Forst

Mike Forst joined Sun State Builders in 2000 as a superintendent and project manager after graduating from Northern Arizona University earning a Bachelor of Science in business administration with an emphasis in finance. Working under his mentor, Jim Vallas, Mike gained an extensive understanding of construction best practices, standards of excellence and a sense of fairness in contracting. While managing projects during the day, Mike earned a master’s in business administration from Arizona State University, completing his degree in 2003. After developing into a seasoned project manager, designing and constructing dozens of industrial and office projects, he transitioned to the sales and development team. During the past 20 years, he’s honed his skills in estimating, sales, leasing, project financing and underwriting. In 2020, Mike became a Sun State Builders partner and in 2024 he was named CEO. His attention to detail and knowledge in business administration give Mike a clear understanding of client needs and his experience in project management provides his vision for designing efficient projects that meet the high-quality standards of Sun State Builders within budget. As CEO, Mike’s focus is on company growth taking projects from design to completion while maintaining a high level of client service.
