“I’m by no means an expert, but I do get to talk to a lot of smart people,” Backer explains. “When it comes to the industrial sector, there is a lot of optimism about what is happening here. But it’s not all rainbows and unicorns —there are some challenges on the horizon. Power availability is one, but another I’ve been hearing about more this year is around air quality and EPA standards getting more strict in the nonattainment zone, which Phoenix is a part of. So there are some concerns there for long-term growth, but people seem pretty excited today, as long as they can get power to their project.”
