Shea Homes Arizona recently closed on three parcels of land in Scottsdale, Phoenix, and Avondale.

“As the population of Maricopa County continues to surge, we have been working diligently to identify the right areas to build new Shea Homes communities,” said Shea Homes Arizona Vice President of Sale and Marketing, Ken Peterson. “After months of planning, we have finalized the purchase of three parcels and are excited to bring a variety of new homes and communities to the market.”

In Scottsdale, Shea Homes will be building 51 homesites on around 35 acres of land at Storyrock in far Northeast Scottsdale (128th Street and Ranch Gate Road). Homes in this master plan community are expended to range in size from ~2,845 – 3,983 square feet and include a narrowed down mix of the homebuilder’s popular Origin and Reserves floorplans. Bordered by the McDowell Sonoran Preserve on three sides, residents will be surrounded by the largest urban preserve in the United States. On a total of 462 acres, a total of 443 homes will be developed by Shea and other select homebuilders on lots specially-designed to minimize impact to the land – allowing for 50% of the community’s acreage to remain dedicated to natural area open space and wildlife corridors. Groundbreaking on model homes is slated for August 2020. Additional information and an early interest list are available at https://storyrockaz.com/.

In Phoenix, Shea Homes purchased approximately 75 acres at Pinnacle Peak Road, west of Cave Creek Road, where 53 homesites are planned for a new community called Northview at Stone Butte Phase 1. Model construction for Northview at Stone Butte is expected to begin in August with sales planned for January 2020. The homes will offer a mix of some Evolve at Cantilena and Emblem at Aloravita floorplans, both single-story and two-story, and ranging in size from approximately 2,770 – 4,290 square feet. The community is expected to have trails, tot lots, pet stations, fire pits, bocce ball, BBQs and ramadas.

In Avondale, Shea has plans to build a new community called Alamar. Phase 1 is located at the southwest corner of Broadway Road and Avondale Boulevard. Shea will break ground at Alamar in Avondale in June 2020, with sales at this Brookfield master plan community slated for late 2020. An entirely new series of floorplans, designed to appeal to first-time or downsizing buyers will range in size from approximately 1,710 – 2,991 square feet. Preliminary Alamar community plans call for an elementary school site, and plentiful parks and trails, with additional amenities yet to be determined. Phase 1 includes plans for 34 homesites, with an additional 48 homesites expected at a later date as a part of Phase 2.

In addition to these three communities, Shea is breaking ground on two additional communities in the coming months – Ascent at Eastmark in Mesa, where the homebuilder started moving dirt in June, and The Reserves Estates at Eastmark in Mesa, where model construction is scheduled to begin this fall.
