Soon the community of south Tempe will have an entertainment hub on the northeast corner of Baseline and Rural. The Collective, a $15 million project, is a mixed-use property bringing shopping, dining, entertainment and fitness options to the area.
Designed and constructed by LGE Design Build, in collaboration with developer DBM Ventures, the 47,300 square-foot project is a redevelopment of the Lake Country Village shopping center. With an array of amenities, The Collective is a stay-all-day destination that will provide the region with a much-needed economic boost after a downturn in early 2000.
“Tempe is a thriving community and Alamo Drafthouse is an in-demand brand name that will anchor The Collective. Together, Alamo and future tenants will infuse the area with vibrant entertainment opportunities within arm’s reach of a neighboring multifamily development right next door,” said LGE Design Build CEO David Sellers. “Blending commercial retail and multifamily residential is a trend that is here to stay. Alamo at the Collective is a prime example of this type of development trend.”
Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, which debuts this month, is the first Collective tenant to open its doors — making it the second Alamo in Arizona. The 32,300-square-foot theater features seven screens, a restaurant and full bar. The large-scale center will also bring an influx of employment opportunities to Tempe.
“This is the perfect time for us to open a second Arizona location,” said Alamo Drafthouse Arizona Franchise Owner Craig Paschich. “The Alamo experience is one we are thrilled to introduce to the local Tempe community.”
