Keyser, Arizona’s largest tenant-only commercial real estate firm, officially launched its new digital infrastructure solutions (DIS) practice group today. This launch follows the recent announcement of the opening of Keyser’s New York office. The new group will be led by technology and real estate industry veterans Patrick Wilcox and Michael Ortiz, who are joining Keyser from Colliers International where they served as regional leaders within the technology solutions group.

The group will focus on delivering multi-market services surrounding information technology and digital real estate, providing comprehensive critical facility services to Keyser clients. Technology is the core business model behind this new best-in-class team, offering cybersecurity, hardware, software and IT real estate solutions. Over the last decade, this team has overseen over $2.5 billion in data center and tech transactions combined.

“We are working as one team instead of fragmented groups, meaning we are completely invested in the technology needs of our real estate clients,” said Managing Director Wilcox. “This allows us to be an extension of our client’s company and forge lasting relationships as they evolve.”

Managing Director Ortiz has fused the IT knowledge he’s gained from work in commercial real estate, technology and investment banking to help his clients find custom IT solutions. Ortiz’s banking background includes working for J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. and Mitsubishi Tokyo Financial Group, where he was heavily involved in syndications of multi-billion-dollar transactions.

After working with Equity Office Properties in the portfolio strategy team through the sale of the company to Blackstone, Ortiz transitioned to IT-based real estate by joining Digital Realty Trust in San Francisco and later with DuPont Fabros Technology overseeing site selection. During his tenure at Digital and DuPont, Ortiz led development projects, as well as acquired and managed more than $1.5 billion in data center assets.

“Servicing clients within the IT real estate vertical is ever changing and rarely does one solution fit for all clients,” said Ortiz. “Our job is to simplify, clarify and deliver these solutions to our clients while always placing their interest first.”

The Keyser model is intentionally disruptive to the industry. It is built horizontally upon a deep culture of service and collaboration, unlike traditional firms. The company has eliminated the need for bureaucratic politics or in-house competition by encouraging collaboration, providing greater value to clients than the norm.

“We are very pleased to welcome Michael and Patrick to the Keyser team,” said Founder Jonathan Keyser. “Not only are they two of the top digital facility industry gurus in the country, but they are a perfect cultural fit. This new practice group they are leading will focus on helping Keyser’s clients globally with all of their digital infrastructure real estate needs.”

Keyser has aggressive national expansion plans and a bold vision to become a Fortune 500 company that transforms the commercial real estate industry. With an average of 58 percent growth year-over-year since being founded, Keyser is award winning and nationally recognized as a top place to work as well as among the top 10 most creative companies in Arizona. Keyser was also named one of top leasing firms in Arizona and is a proud host company for Conscious Capitalism’s upcoming Global Summit.
