Maracay, a wholly owned subsidiary of TRI Pointe Group (NYSE: TPH), has added 140 acres to its popular Waterston master-planned community, located at the northwest corner of Val Vista and Ocotillo roads in Gilbert, Arizona. The land purchase represents the second phase of the community.
“This purchase comes at a very key moment, as Waterston has become one of the fastest-selling communities in Maracay’s history, which is evidenced by the fact that we sold more than 100 homes in the first four months of opening,” Maracay President Andy Warren said. “Homebuyers have been particularly interested in Waterston for its unique design and unmatched product offerings and amenities, including its proximity to the neighboring Veterans Oasis Park—and the additional homesites will be a welcome addition for those looking to find a home at Waterston.”
Land development for the new phase, which will include 485 homesites and will be named Waterston North, is expected to begin later this year with model openings planned for early 2022. Additional phases will follow, bringing the total number of homes to approximately 1,400 and making Waterston the only large-scale master-planned community in Gilbert. This latest phase, however, will feature six distinct floorplan series on homesites sized from 4,500 to 9,500 square feet. Homes are expected to range from approximately 1,800 to 4,400 square feet.
The floorplans will be highlighted by seamless indoor-outdoor space with a variety of unique amenities, including RV and accessory garages, generational suites and much more. Plus, many of the larger homesites will offer some of the most spacious backyards in the East Valley, designed for entertaining friends and family year-round with barbecues, al fresco dining or simply enjoying the beautiful Arizona sunsets.
The Waterston masterplan features a cohesive architectural theme throughout the community; drawing inspiration from Hill Country, a beautifully diverse landscape in Texas where the iconic homes feature a mix of modern elegance and simplicity in materials, design and construction.
