Sagewood, a senior living community featuring resort-like amenities and health care services, has opened Mesquite Grill & Lounge, a 100-seat restaurant with lounge and patio featuring intercontinental cuisine in a contemporary, casual design with a display kitchen.
Three distinct dining experiences are offered at Mesquite Grill & Lounge: a relaxed, casual dining area featuring an open-air design with exhibition kitchen and grill; a sophisticated lounge; and the restaurant’s outdoor patio with misters and heaters for year-round comfort.
The restaurant’s color theme reflects the desert in bloom with a palette of warm yellow, purple, orange, poppy red and tan. Handcrafted design components feature interlocking multi-colored glass and tile columns, Eco Resin curved wall panels, cork flooring, light cherry wood canopies and suspended ceiling clouds for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Artwork in the restaurant includes two majestic photographs of the Sonoran Desert in bloom by Sagewood resident and artistic photographer Phil Douglis, known for his personal touch and expressive imagery.
Sagewood redesigned its former juice bar and clubhouse reception area into the expansive new contemporary restaurant and lounge. Weitz served as the general contractor of the new Mesquite Grill & Lounge.
Mesquite Grill & Lounge serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Cuisine offerings include omelets, smoked salmon benedict for breakfast; and calzones, gourmet sandwiches and wraps; beef, chicken and shrimp fajitas, sliders, shrimp scampi, create-your-own gourmet pizzas and an extensive salad bar for lunch and dinner selections. Desserts feature chocolate lava cakes and a blonde brownie skillet in addition to an apple empanada skillet.
“We’re excited to bring this new, stylish restaurant and lounge to the Sagewood community focusing on fresh and seasonal cuisine including regional favorites from our veteran chef, Michael Raibley,” said Stewart Ingram, executive director of Sagewood.
Mesquite Grill & Lounge, designed by Smith Group JJR, is the third restaurant located at Sagewood.
