The year of 2014 may be in the record books as the biggest year in recent history for one of the Valley’s oldest and most reputable luxury home builders.  Scottsdale based and family owned Cullum Homes Inc. sold more than $26.5 million worth of custom-built homes in 2014 in Maricopa County, outpacing its nearest competitor by $2 million.

Cullum earned the number one spot in the Valley of the Sun for custom home builders, based on the value of homes it sold in 2014.  With homes averaging 4300-square-feet and new home developments in some of the Valley’s most prestigious neighborhoods including; The Village at Silverleaf, Cholla Heights, 7M Ranch Estates, Village at Paradise Reserve and the Village at Mountain Shadows, Cullum says 2015 numbers are already outpacing 2014 numbers.

“In 2014 we actually built and sold more homes than we did in the years preceding the market crash,” said Rod Cullum, owner and founder of Cullum Homes. “The difference now, we are seeing a more savvy buyer who still wants the best quality materials, but instead of the huge mega mansions with acreage that we saw in the mid 2000’s, today’s buyer wants a home that is right-sized to fit their current lifestyle needs.”

Cullum says that couldn’t be more evident than at the site of its exclusive guard gated “lock and leave” resort lifestyle community currently under construction in the Village at Mountain Shadows.

Comprised of 40 imaginative residences designed to capture the diamond in the desert view of Camelback and the surrounding mountains, the multi-million dollar homes feature high-end amenities, including a ‘Car Bar’ and sales have been strong even with the model homes still under construction.
