Chris Karas of The Karas Group at Launch Real Estate and Arizona developer, Sabin Burrell, have teamed up with famed Los Angeles design/build architect Roman James and acclaimed Interior designer, Misty Cowan of Dwelling Design, to bring a new caliber of custom homes to Arizona. As one of the most sought after joint venture building partners for residential single family home development in California, James has an impressive portfolio including a number of record-setting sales in Beverly Hills and the exclusive “Bird Streets” in the Hollywood Hills. The team is currently looking for land deals or tear downs in Paradise Valley with plans to invest more than $200 million over the next few years.

James is most well-known for designing the “Minecraft” mansion, which smashed not only the highest square foot sales record in LA, but also the highest recorded sale in the history of Beverly Hills for $70 million. Combining his talents with longtime friend, serial investor and developer, Burrell, and top Realtor, Karas, who is known for consistently breaking sales records in Paradise Valley, James and team plan to bring LA-inspired new builds and the next level of single family residential development to Arizona.

“I’ve long had an interest in expanding Roman James brands to the Arizona market; however, with being predominantly an LA-based firm, we needed the right partners who understood the local market and had the right resources,” said James. “Sabin has personally built some of the most amazing homes in Arizona and together, we are excited to collectively raise the bar. I am especially excited to roll out our joint venture concept that will provide home and land owners the opportunity to partner with our world class team to build stunning properties on speculation.”

Giving owners an alternative to selling their undeveloped land or homes that need to be scraped or completely remodeled, the trifecta will provide the unique opportunity for sellers to joint venture with them on their lot’s redevelopment, adding substantially more value when they sell. The team is currently on the hunt for prime pieces of land in Paradise Valley where a tear down and new construction would maximize the value of the asset versus a traditional sale. The new design/build projects will rival any other homes being built in Arizona today and will be priced from $8 million to $20 million.
