Arizona State University graduate Alyssa Tufts has been named associate editor at AZ Big Media.
“I’m very excited to have the opportunity to write and assist in managing multiple publications for such an established and well-regarded company,” Tufts says. “I’m looking forward to learning more about incredible things in Arizona, making connections in the community and finding stories that engage, inspire and entertain.”
Tufts, who grew up in the Valley, was previously a reporter at MyNewsMesa.com and the East Valley Tribune, writing stories about businesses, nonprofits, and entertainment.
“I enjoy writing about entertainment, restaurants, entrepreneurs, and nonprofits because they’re informative and fun topics that are also relatable,” Tufts says. “People can read a story about a restaurant and go try it, learn about an event coming up and attend, find inspiration in an entrepreneur’s journey, or get involved and support a nonprofit.”
For more than 30 years, AZ Big Media has been bringing readers the state’s most compelling business and lifestyle news through the print editions of Az Business magazine, AZRE, Ranking Arizona, Az Business Leaders, Az Business Angels, Home & Design, Experience AZ, People to Know and Play Ball. “I hope to write untold stories for the magazines that increase knowledge of a business, topic, or cause,” Tufts says. “For the website, I hope to assist in creating online content that leads to increased readership and social media engagement.”
