Evergreen Development has announced that it recently purchased, and will soon break ground on Litchfield Marketplace, a 20.9-acre retail development at the northeast corner of Camelback and Litchfield Roads in Litchfield Park.
“The West Valley is full of new growth and development, and we’re pleased to be part of it,” said Laura Ortiz, Evergreen’s managing principal in the Phoenix office. “Litchfield Marketplace will offer West Valley residents even more close-to-home conveniences.”
The groundbreaking of the new retail development, which will be surrounded by more than 30,000-square-feet of shopping and quick-service dining options, will take place before the end of October.
“The groundbreaking announcement for Litchfield Marketplace is a celebration for our community,” said Thomas L. Schoaf, Mayor of Litchfield Park. “Evergreen is not only investing in our community, but it’s investing in our people by creating jobs and opportunities. Litchfield Marketplace will help to make our already fantastic and unique community even better.”
The development’s anchor tenant is a Fry’s Marketplace. Larger than the typical Fry’s Food and Drug store, the Marketplace is one of the company’s signature store models. It typically offers full-service grocery, pharmacy, and health and beauty care departments, as well as fresh-food products, and general merchandise including outdoor living products, electronics, home goods and toys. The Fry’s Marketplace will occupy 124,000-square-feet, and is expected to break ground in November.
Evergreen anticipates that Litchfield Marketplace will be complete by the third quarter of 2016. The development will also feature an Ace Hardware and Jack in the Box, as well as many smaller shops and restaurants.
Scottsdale-based FITCH is the architect for Litchfield Marketplace, and Mesa-based Chasse Building Team is the local contractor.
