Alter Group is adding a new collaborative workspace, R-Tech, to its 176-acre mixed use business park, Riverwalk Arizona, in Scottsdale.

GlobalTranz Inc. will be the inaugural tenant, signing a 70,347 square-foot lease to expand its sales and operations space.

“The East Valley, comprising Tempe, Scottsdale and Chandler, continues to be the area’s leading office market,” said Michael J. Alter, president of the Alter Group. “R-Tech will create a high-tech anchor building in Scottsdale in a campus that draws 30,000 visitors a week because of its entertainment and amenities, including the new Top Golf facility and Talking Stick Resort & Casino. The new facility will feature 15 foot tall ceilings and 7:1,000 parking. R-Tech also has a large interactive lobby that includes a Starbuck’s coffee bar, medical clinic and interactive seating areas.”

GlobalTranz’s current Riverwalk offices will relocate from 7500 to R-Tech at 7350 N. Dobson Rd. where it will occupy an initial 40,000 square-feet. In February, the company will move its corporate headquarters from 5415 E. High St. in Phoenix to the remaining 30,000 sqaure-feet at R-Tech.

Founded in 2003, GlobalTranz is a technology based logistics company that provides innovative solutions enabling shippers to manage their logistics needs and access highly discounted rates.

GlobalTranz created a one-stop-shop for its customer base of over 18,000 shippers. As a Top 20 Freight Brokerage Firm, GlobalTranz has been recognized by Inc. 500 and was recently named by the Arizona Corporate Excellence (ACE) Awards as the 19th Largest Private Company in Arizona, rising 10 spots in the listing over the past three years.

“We are extremely excited to be making the leap to this facility. We are currently hiring 36 representatives per month and the additional 70,000 square feet is necessary to implement our strategic plan,” said Michael Leto, president-direct sales for GlobalTranz.

“We are excited to welcome GlobalTranz to R-Tech,” said Kurt W. Rosene, president of Novo Development, which represented The Alter Group. “The Company has experienced tremendous growth in the past few years and the entrepreneurial spirit they exude makes them an ideal fit for this major new technology hub. We were able to accommodate their interim needs in the 7500 North Dobson Road building, while we were re-positioning R-Tech into a collaborative and creative office building. A large mixed-use office park like Riverwalk affords growing companies many options to meet their customer’s need and attract top employment to this amenity rich location.”

One of the country’s largest developments on Native American land to date, Riverwalk Arizona will yield an estimated 1,500,000 square-feet of corporate office and retail space, and create up to 15,000 new jobs. Riverwalk Arizona is set on prime land owned by the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Community, home to the Pima and Maricopa Indians, descendants of the ancient Hohokam Indians.

Rod Beach, Senior Vice President of Cresa, represented GlobalTranz.
