In conjunction with its 25th year anniversary, Architekton named John Cahoon, John Williams and Harold Gephardt senior associates. After 25 years of practice, this is one of the first in a series of celebratory events that coincide with the firm’s silver jubilee. Founded June 1, 1989, the firm is known for award-winning, creative solutions to complex projects that balance functionality with aesthetics, and for the firm’s ability to manage strict client budgets and produce high quality architecture.
John Cahoon has been an architect with the firm for 9 of his 26 years in the industry. He has managed the design, documentation and construction of large projects worldwide including master planned communities, university student centers, government projects and religious facilities. A career that spans over 30 years, John Williams has been an architect with the firm for 4 years and follows a design philosophy that is dedicated to ensuring that the architecture is sustainable, hospitable and distinct for the client and the community to which it inhabits. Harold Gebhardt has been with Architekton for 14 years as controller and CFO.
Since its founding in downtown Tempe, the firm has completed projects that have not only been deemed a success by users and the surrounding communities, but have gained critical acclaim through publication and awards. A never-ending passion of the firm’s partners and team members to be creative, sustainable and innovative has resulted in more than 125 local, regional and national citations for design excellence.
From four founding partners —each with their own area of expertise and professional experience— Architekton has grown to a staff of 35. Today, we possess an even broader spectrum of talents and project experience. Our diversity is a direct result of our firm’s philosophy and evolution. We are recognized for our experience, dedication, technical expertise and unparalleled service. Our success in a vast array of building types and project scales has been recognized with project awards by local, regional and national groups but, more importantly, by loyalty from our clients.
