The Arizona Cardinals and Westgate Entertainment District have teamed up this season to host a fan-friendly, Cardinals pre-game party before every home game at Westgate’s WaterDance Plaza, adjacent to the $6 million Bellagio-esque dancing fountains starting with the team’s home opener vs. Detroit on Sept. 15.
The pre-game festivities will begin three hours before kickoff and will include live music, free Cardinals Cheerleaders autograph sessions, Cardinals-themed inflatables, photo boards and stands and other fan-friendly and interactive experiences. The Cardinals will also provide an outdoor beer garden on the plaza as another venue for fans to enjoy the pre-game atmosphere before walking over to University of Phoenix Stadium.
Westgate Entertainment District has long hosted game-day activities, but this will mark the first season that such entertainment is coordinated with and hosted by the Cardinals.
“Westgate has always been a pre-game hub of fan activity, and we look at this cooperative relationship with the Cardinals as a way of expanding upon and broadening that experience,” said Jeff Teetsel, Westgate’s development manager. “The result will be a festive, Cardinals-themed fan environment, with an outdoor beer garden to complement the more than 15 restaurants we have.”
“We know that Cardinals home games are a day-long event for so many fans and pre-game traditions and rituals are a very big part of their game day experience,” said Ron Minegar, the Cardinals Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer. “Providing as many quality options as possible only enhances that. We think this Westgate activation along with the pre-game festivities on the Great Lawn as well as new initiatives being rolled out on the plaza area around University of Phoenix Stadium will ensure that the Cardinals game day atmosphere remains among the best in the National Football League.”
