Everyone who donates blood to the United Blood Services from Jan. 1 to 15 will receive a voucher for a free Waste Management Phoenix Open ticket to keep up with January’s high blood demands.
The Thunderbirds, host of the Phoenix Open, partnered with the United Blood Services, because blood transfusions are required more in January than in any other month, according to the United Blood Services. United Blood Services and The Thunderbirds partnered more than a decade ago.
“We hope to encourage more blood donations while people are still focused on the spirit of giving,” said Audrey Jennings, regional executive director for United Blood Services Arizona. “The gift of life is the most important gift of all and doesn’t cost anything, except a little of your time.”
