The Flinn Foundation named Stacy L. Tucker as its new vice president and CFO, a position responsible for overseeing the Foundation’s investment, financial, accounting and business activities.
Tucker, who joined the Foundation in early March, also is responsible for financial reporting, auditing, budgeting, internal controls, insurance, employee benefits and the preparation of annual tax returns and financial statements.
Tucker arrives with first-hand understanding of the workings of a philanthropic organization and a depth of experience in her areas of responsibility.
“Stacy is an outstanding addition to our executive team, working closely with our board of directors and our staff in many different financial arenas,” said Jack B. Jewett, Flinn Foundation president and CEO. “This is a position critical to the success of the Foundation, and her background and expertise offer an ideal fit with the position’s responsibilities.”
Tucker previously served as chief operating officer of a single-family office in Phoenix, where her responsibilities included management and oversight of the Timothy T. Day Foundation, Inc.
Her experience also includes a 10-year stint at Bar-S Foods Co., where she served as director of taxation, and positions in the tax department of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in both the Phoenix and Los Angeles offices.
Tucker is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a master’s degree in business taxation from the University of Southern California and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, San Diego.
The Flinn Foundation, a Phoenix-based private, nonprofit, grantmaking organization, was established in 1965 by the late Dr. and Mrs. Robert S. Flinn with the mission of improving the quality of life in Arizona to benefit future generations. The Foundation supports the advancement of Arizona’s bioscience sector, arts and culture in Arizona, the Flinn Scholars Program, and the Arizona Center for Civic Leadership.
