Harrah’s Ak-Chin appoints Adrienn Massaglia
Adrienn Massaglia has been named the new property sales manager for Harrah’s Ak-Chin for the Caesars Portfolio Property Sales team, relocating to Phoenix, Arizona from the Kansas City area.
Adrienn has been part of the Harrah’s North Kansas City family for 3.5 years, and is excited to carry on the past years’ practices and experience to the Harrah’s Ak-Chin team, and introduce the property to the meetings industry not only in the Phoenix region, but throughout the nation. During her time at Harrah’s North Kansas City, Massaglia’s two proudest moments are being on the first corporate employee recognized by the property for the Chariman’s Club Award, and achieving the prestigious “Venue of the Year” award by KCMPI. Massaglia is already active with the local Arizona Sunbelt Chapter of MPI, where she will serve on the board of directors, as Director of Special Events and Fundraising for the 2018-2019 business year.
Massaglia loves warm weather, English is her second language (Hungarian is her native language), and is a travel enthusiast with a love for the Caribbean.
Banner gets new chiefs of staff
The 1,068 physicians who practice at Banner – University Medical Center Tucson and the 708 physicians who practice at Banner – University Medical South have elected a chief of staff at each hospital, effective Jan. 1.
The chief of staff is the chief administrative officer for hospital physicians, overseeing physician credentialing and peer review and coordinating important other medical staff functions, such as the patient care quality programs at the hospital.
At Banner – UMC Tucson, Chan Lowe, MD, an associate professor in the University of Arizona Department of Pediatrics, was elected chief of staff for a two-year term. Dr. Lowe is the division chief of pediatric hospital medicine, caring for children admitted to Banner Children’s – Diamond Children’s Medical Center. He received his medical degree and completed his residency at the UA College of Medicine – Tucson.
Serving with Dr. Lowe on the hospital’s Medical Executive Committee are Francisco Moreno, MD, chief of staff elect; Robert Harland, MD, secretary-treasurer; and Dorothy Gilbertson-Dahdal, MD, and Marlon Guerrero, MD, members at large.
At Banner – UMC South, Lisa Stoneking, MD, an associate professor in the UA Department of Emergency Medicine, is the new chief of staff.
In addition to treating patients in the Banner – UMC South Emergency Department, Dr. Stoneking also is the program director of the hospital’s Emergency Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Stoneking received her medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown and completed her residency at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, S.C.
Serving with her on the hospital’s Medical Executive Committee are Joel Funk, MD, chief of staff elect; Bethany Bruzzi, MD, secretary-treasurer; and Bujji Ainapurapu, MD, and Krista Sunderman, MD, members at large.
Cadence Senior Living appoints Reneé Mayo
Cadence Senior Living announced the appointment of Reneé Mayo as Executive Director at Inspira Arrowhead in Glendale, AZ. Reneé brings extensive senior living leadership experience and passion to Inspira Arrowhead, the first branded community from the joint venture between P.B. Bell and Cadence Senior Living. The community is scheduled to open in January 2019. In her role, Reneé will be responsible for all aspects of the community, including initial lease-up and implementing Cadence’s core lifestyle programs. Prior to joining Cadence’s Inspira team, Reneé served in progressively advancing roles at Beztak Properties where she was responsible for leasing and marketing prior to becoming Executive Director at Casa Del Rio.

Gila River Gaming Enterprises names leaders
Gila River Gaming Enterprises, Inc., (GRGE) recently named Sean Douglas Simpson as the new Chief Security Officer and Jessica McKenny as Director of Database Marketing.
In his position, as Chief Security Officer, Simpson will oversee all Gila River Hotels & Casinos properties which include security, safety, fire and risk management. Simpson will also supervise guest claims, general liability and auto insurances.
Simpson has previous experience in the casino security management sector where he previously held the role of Director of Security and Risk Management for Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in Reno, Nevada. Simpson held this position for 11 years and worked for Atlantis Casino Resort Spa for more than 19 years in other positions including Risk & Safety Manager and Acting Surveillance Manager. Simpson’s other experience in security roles includes working as a police officer for suburban towns in Ohio.
Simpson has an engineering degree from Wright State University and is a graduate of the Ohio Basic Police Academy. Simpson also received the State of Nevada Distinguished Service Medal in 2012 in response to his contributions in the planning and execution of the all force protection measures that supported the Nevada National Guard and the Provost Marshal’s Office of two very high profile national events.
In her new role, Jessica McKenny will serve as the Director of Database Marketing for GRGE managing a team of seven database specialists, consisting of a manager, three analysts, and three coordinators. She has been with GRGE for five years working as a marketing analyst.

Prior to joining GRGE, McKenny spent 10 years as a Senior Inventory and Forecast Analyst for CVS Health. She has a B.A. in Sociology & Women’s Studies and a Masters of Education degree, both from Arizona State University.
