Sierra Tucson, a world-renowned leader in addiction and behavioral health care, has expanded its recovery center campus with the opening of a state-of-the-art 30,000-square-foot building, Copper Sky, located at 39580 S. Lago del Oro Parkway in Tucson.
Led by a best-in-class medical and clinical team, the 44-bed lodge utilizes an integrative model of care, providing the outstanding resident experience and clinical excellence that has defined Sierra Tucson for more than three decades.
Designed to enhance the overall treatment experience, Copper Sky provides two select programs, The Crossing and The Chrysalis. The Crossing assists patients with achieving the level of stabilization to allow for successfully transitioning to Sierra Tucson’s residential care program. As individuals prepare for residential treatment, The Crossing’s detoxification and stabilization program allows for experiencing the withdrawal process within a safe and comfortable environment.
The Chrysalis Program is a highly individualized, patient-centered program designed to serve those who require individualized treatment with wrap-around services. Using an Integrative Model of Care, Sierra Tucson provides holistic, customized treatment to a diverse population who do not meet the criteria for acute care yet are not a fit for traditional residential treatment.
This Program provides individualized care that includes daily psychiatric visits, individual therapy three-to-five times per week, EMDR treatment and a myriad of trauma-informed therapeutic modalities. Additional features of treatment include bodyworks (massage, acupuncture, or shiatsu), daily exercise and consultations with a staff dietitian.
Patients who are admitted to the Chrysalis Program are those who may suffer with major depressive disorder, chronic suicidality, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), delusions, eating disorders, PTSD, and can benefit from the Program’s gentle approach, while experiencing the clinical excellence that has defined Sierra Tucson for over three decades.
Nestled in the Santa Catalina Mountains, the Pueblo-designed Copper Sky building features beautifully-styled resident accommodations, integrative therapy rooms, areas for individual treatment sessions, a pharmacy and an admission center, all designed to enhance the resident recovery experience.
Design highlights were specifically crafted to create a beautiful and safe environment dedicated to healing. These incredible features include hand-stacked stone walls, hardwood flooring with inlay accents, wood beam ceilings, copper elements throughout, a spiritual wall fountain named “One Reason” and floor to ceiling windows offering panoramic views of the surrounding majestic desert mountains.
“For more than 30 years, Sierra Tucson has helped thousands of people empower themselves through our renowned programs and team of medical experts. We look forward to serving more individuals in need of treatment for addiction and behavioral health care with the new Copper Sky lodge,” said Jaime Vinck, MC, LPC, NCC, CEIP, chief executive officer of Sierra Tucson.
