MacQueen & Gottlieb adds 2 to staff

Just like the sports world has 2 big events this coming weekend, MacQueen & Gottlieb, PLC (M&G), Arizona’s top-ranked real estate law firm, today announced the hiring of two new M&G’ers, attorney Joshua Zimmerman and law clerk Mark Sandison.

Joshua Zimmerman

Zimmerman celebrates his quindecinnial in law and brings extensive commercial litigation experience and expertise in products liability and constitutional law. He has practiced in state and federal courts throughout the nation. Prior to joining M&G, Zimmerman worked at top-ranking national firms handling complex litigation, premises liability and tort defense. He was
also first chair on three trials, which resulted in favorable verdicts for his clients. Along with his real estate litigation experience, he has also represented clients in banking and financial services, product liability and insurance coverage defense where he drafted and argued over fifty different dispositive motions. Zimmerman earned his Juris Doctor from The George Washington University Law School and graduated in the Top 18% of his class. He completed his undergraduate studies from The University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Psychology, where he graduated summa cum laude.

Mark Sandison

According to Ben Gottlieb, “Zimmerman’s commercial litigation experience and his passion for the law is what attracted us, we are excited to have him on the M&G Team.”

Also joining team M&G is law clerk, Mark Sandison. Sandison is currently a third-year law student at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. Prior to joining M&G, he interned in the legal landscape working at the City of Tempe Attorney’s Office and a local law firm handling construction matters. Sandison also worked at Pacific Construction as a Supervisor and managed various commercial industrial construction projects. He completed his undergraduate studies from Mihaylo College of Business and Economics at California State University of Fullerton, where he graduated cum laude.

Quarles & Brady’s Nick Meza elected to AzHSA board

The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP today announced that Nick Meza, a partner in the firm’s Health and Life Sciences group, has been elected to the Arizona Society of Healthcare Attorneys (AzSHA) board of directors.

AzSHA membership consists of attorneys in Arizona who are employed or engaged by a healthcare organization, or who regularly deal with legal issues affecting the healthcare industry. The goal of AzSHA is to provide opportunities for lawyers and regulatory compliance personnel in the healthcare field to meet and exchange information and ideas, conduct legal seminars and provide a central agency for the exchange of legal and other regulatory information.

In addition to his AzSHA board membership, Meza is a member of several local and health law-related organizations, including the National Association of Specialty Pharmacy, Arizona Society of Healthcare and Los Abogados Hispanic Bar Association, in addition to serving as a contributing editor of the American Society of Pharmacy Law. He is the co-chair of the firm’s Phoenix office recruiting committee and co-chair of its Hispanic Business Resource Group.
