Today’s spotlight: Susan Chetlin
Burch & Cracchiolo
Background: Chetlin is a registered patent attorney focusing on intellectual property protection strategies (patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret). She is immediate past cChair of the Shea Group, a self-directed, invitation-only group of business executives, leaders and consultants who engage on business issues in Arizona and beyond. She also participates in the Arizona Commerce Authority’s Venture Ready program.
Professional advice: “Be thoughtful. That’s useful on a number of levels. To me it means, think about how your work and actions affect your clients, colleagues, adversaries, decision-makers and yourself. And, it means be thoughtful in how you do your work – think first about how to solve the problem before taking action and be deliberate in how you go about solving the problem.”
Lesson learned in 2020: “Let go of what is really not important and what I cannot control. Concentrate on what is really important and what is within my power to change. These things are true now, more than ever.”
Surprising fact: “I once ‘caught big air’ on my snowboard by mistakenly going off a jump hidden in the trees and landed it.”
