BACKGROUND: Zivit Katz-Tsameret, vice president of manufacturing, supply chain, and operations at Intel, is the Fab Manager for Intel’s two new fabs in Arizona, which were first announced in 2021 as part of Intel’s IDM 2.0 strategy. Katz-Tsameret first joined Intel in 1996 as a process engineer, and in 2017, she was appointed to lead Fab Technology and Operations in Arizona. She earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in materials science and engineering from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel.

CAREER PATH INSPIRATION: “I was inspired and supported by my family. As a child, I liked to climb trees, participate in sports and assemble/disassemble mechanical parts. I have always felt an intuitive connection to technology and being the daughter of a materials science professor, I grew up to pursue a similar field in grad school. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to work alongside some gifted leaders that I looked up to and who served as mentors.”

SOURCE OF PRIDE: “My current role as a senior leader at Intel’s Technology Fabrication site in Ocotillo has generated a great deal of pride. I am proud to lead the team responsible for overseeing the construction of two new fabs that will generate thousands of new jobs in the Valley. With so many new employees joining our existing Intel family, I look forward to helping to inspire a shared vision built around inclusion, innovation and expanding our connection with the community around us in Ocotillo, the City of Chandler and the State of Arizona.”

SOURCE OF INSPIRATION: “I give a lot of credit to Maxine Fassberg who was one of my first managers at Intel and my mentor for many years. She inspired me with the way she cared about people and how she developed leadership at Intel. In many ways, she was for me, the North Star I wanted to follow.”

SURPRISING FACT: “I grew up in Israel but despite my strong Israeli accent, I was born in California. I also really love the outdoors!  Intel has great work-life balance, and on weekends and vacations, I can be found on long bike rides, exploring and hiking — in fact, I just finished hiking to the spectacular Havasupai Falls with my husband, Ilan, and friends.”
