Aaron M. Duell joins Burch & Cracchiolo

The law firm of Burch & Cracchiolo, P.A., announced Aaron M. Duell has joined the firm as an Associate. Duell’s practice will focus on employment law/litigation and commercial litigation.

Prior to joining Burch & Cracchiolo, Duell clerked for the Honorable Dominic W. Lanza at the U.S District Court for the District of Arizona.  Prior to that, he worked at the Arizona Attorney General’s Office in the Government Accountability and Special Litigation unit.  There, he was awarded the 2017 “Emerging Star Award” for the Civil Litigation Division.  Duell pursued legal action against cities, counties, and towns deemed to have violated state law and the Arizona constitution.  In addition, Duell investigated and prosecuted violations of the Arizona Consumer Fraud Act. 

Duell received his J.D. from the Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law in 2016.  While there, he contributed to the Jurimetrics Law Journal: ABA Section for Science and Technology.  Duell received the Paul Holloway Trial Advocacy Award, three CALI Awards, and was named a Pedrick Scholar.  He earned his B.A. in both Political Science and History, magna cum laude, from Arizona State University in 2011.

Alliance Bank of Arizona expands C&I banking team

Alliance Bank of Arizona today announced Jeff Schelter as the Managing Director of Commercial Banking. Schelter’s new role will help Alliance Bank enhance its support of clients’ growth efforts across the Valley and Northern Arizona.

A 15-year veteran at Alliance Bank of Arizona, Schelter previously served as the Regional Manager of the Chandler Commercial and Industrial (C&I) banking group, where he built a strong portfolio of clients and referral sources. Currently, the group has more than $1 billion in loan commitments within their portfolio, in large part due to Alliance Bank of Arizona’s unique approach to doing business where its local knowledge and local decision-making are key differentiators.

Harrah’s hires advertising and marketing manager

Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino, part of Caesars Entertainment and the state’s only tribal casino to have an international management partner, today announced the company has hired Samantha Gulick as database marketing and advertising manager. In the role, Gulick will manage the direct marketing team, responsible for building successful marketing campaigns and monthly outreach strategies that will drive traffic and build brand awareness for the property. In addition, Gulick will oversee all advertising efforts. 

Gulick has been with Caesars Entertainment for more than five years. Prior to her position at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino, Gulick worked as the marketing campaign manager for Harrah’s & Horseshoe Council Bluffs in Council Bluffs, Iowa and Harrah’s North Kansas City Hotel and Casino where she was responsible for all outbound digital and direct mail marketing campaigns.

Alzheimer’s care expert to lead Banner Alzheimer’s Institute in Tucson

Banner Alzheimer’s Institute, an international leader in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, is proud to announce its inaugural director to oversee the new, multidisciplinary memory and research center in Tucson. Allan A. Anderson, MD, MMM, CMD, DLFAPA, is an experienced leader, researcher and provider eager to join the growing team, which will provide outpatient care, clinical research, education and support and community outreach.

As an expert in dementia care, Dr. Anderson has a track record of developing and incorporating innovative dementia care practice models in outpatient memory clinics, as well as specialized assisted living dementia programs. He is a strong proponent of a team approach to Alzheimer’s and dementia care which includes training interdisciplinary teams to deliver care and understanding while addressing the needs of Alzheimer’s and dementia patient and family members. 

“My approach is based on empowerment. People can reach their greatest potential if they are empowered. I value the Banner Alzheimer’s Institute approach to care, which includes the patient, their family and the greater community,” said Dr. Anderson. 

As director, Dr. Anderson will create and implement education and training programs to expand the number of Alzheimer’s and dementia trained health care workers who can deliver more cost-effective care.

“The challenge is that we are never going to have enough specialists to care for the patients diagnosed with this illness, so we must focus on providing training to educate primary care providers and other clinicians to provide scientifically proven, quality treatments for our patients,” said Dr. Anderson.

Sundt hires Ted Chamberlain

Sundt Construction, Inc. recently hired Ted Chamberlain as a project director in its Transportation Group.

“Ted will be an incredible asset to have on our team,” said Cade Rowley, Vice President and Southwest Regional Director of Transportation. “He will bring an experienced skillset to the group, and we are looking forward to having him grow within Sundt.”

Chamberlain joins Sundt with 21 years of experience in heavy civil construction management, supervision, and estimating. He has expertise in the transportation and industrial sectors and alternative delivery methods. After earning his bachelor’s in construction management from Arizona State University, he received his certification as a Certified Professional Constructor from the American Institute of Constructors as well as the Certified Construction Manager accreditation from the Construction Management Association of America.

Sundt has over 90 years of experience in Arizona, with offices in Tempe, Tucson and Phoenix. Ranked the third largest contractor in the Southwest by industry-leading publication ENR, Sundt is currently working on the Canopy by Hilton Tempe and just completed the Gilbert Road Light Rail Extension.
