Lickerman becomes interim CEO of Cresa

On February 15th, Jim Underhill will be stepping down as CEO of Cresa. Underhill has spent the past five years helping Cresa become the firm that it is today, and he is ready to move on to the next phase of his career. This is a planned exit and part of the Board of Directors’ broader plans for the organization.

“I’m proud of how we have raised the visibility and competitiveness of Cresa in the global tenant advisory space,” Underhill said. “With recent leadership additions and changes, the company has a stronger than ever foundation for continuing that movement forward. It has been a true pleasure leading this organization and it is the right time to pass the baton to the next leader of this extraordinary organization.”

To fill the CEO position, Tod Lickerman will be stepping in as Interim CEO. Lickerman has been on Cresa’s Board of Directors since October 2019, and his insights and participation have been extremely valuable to the company. Lickerman is a CRE veteran, having served as Global President and Americas CEO at Cushman & Wakefield, Global CEO of DTZ, and CEO of Corporate Solutions Americas at JLL, where he also ran several divisions including healthcare, energy, and European facility management.

Top retail team joins ORION Investment Real Estate

ORION Investment Real Estate begins 2021 with the expansion of its Retail Division. Joining ORION are veteran brokers Mary Nollenberger, Nicole Ridberg and Kevin Weller. “We’ve known Mary and Nicole for years and have always been impressed by their accomplishments within the industry. Mary Nollenberger most recently served as the Director of Leasing and Retail Investment Sales for a national brokerage firm where she specialized in trade area feasibility, brand development, and strategic expansion. She has represented area developers and landlords for two decades. Mary has been responsible for site selection for local and national retail tenants including regional and national roll out and expansion strategies. She prides herself in establishing trustworthy and long-term business relationships with her clients by providing an unprecedented level of customer service that exceeds expectations. Mary has been recognized for many commercial real estate awards & achievements over the last several years for her outstanding performance.

Nicole Ridberg has worked in the industry for eighteen years, learning and mastering every stage of the commercial process. She worked alongside her father Rick Ridberg MD, for seven years in the area of medical real estate, doing all aspects of both leases and sales and has since transitioned into Retail. She has been an integral member of development teams that have built over 500,000 square feet of award-winning multi-tenant projects.

Nicole started in medical real estate and has transitioned into retail to work alongside her mother, Mary. Nicole has been in the industry for 18 years and has been an integral part of development teams that have built over 500,000 square feet of award-winning multi-tenant projects. She has listed or co-listed the sale and leasing of over 2,000,000 square feet of office & retail space.

Kevin Weller was raised in Reading, Pennsylvania, and is an Arizona transplant through Arizona State University. He attended the W.P. Carey School of Business and graduated with degrees in Entrepreneurship, Finance and Real Estate. Kevin sets his goals high and is already an active member in the Commercial Real Estate market closing many deals over his first few years. Kevin’s work ethic, tenacity and passion for the industry help make him a trusted advocate among retail landlords and developers throughout the Phoenix market.

McCarthy adds 3 new partners to its Arizona team

McCarthy Building Companies Inc. announces three additions to the firm’s Arizona team. The new partners, who are based in the Phoenix office, include Russ Sanders, Charlie Crews and Frances Inestroza. Together, the new members bring nearly 50 years of experience and will play a significant role in expanding the Southwest region’s client services efforts.

Russ Sanders is hired as vice president of Design Integration

Sanders, who has nearly 30 years of architecture, technology, management and construction industry experience, will be supporting McCarthy’s business development and preconstruction teams by bringing a fresh approach to design partner engagement and implementing technology advancement to guide teams. Sanders is a registered architect, and throughout his career has promoted the use of technology, tools and processes to better communicate with the entire project team, drive decisions and generate positive outcomes on projects as large as $600 million. Early in his career, Sanders helped to pioneer the utilization of Building Information Modeling (BIM), working with software developers to influence the development of emerging tools. He has also lectured extensively on the subject throughout the U.S. and abroad.

In his role at McCarthy, Sanders will be responsible for assisting the Arizona, Nevada and Colorado offices in establishing strong teams of designers, engineers and builders to ensure each project’s success. Sanders recently received his DBIA Professional certification with the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA). He holds a bachelor of science degree in design as well as a master of architecture from Arizona State University and received a National AIA BIM Award for innovation.

Charlie Crews is hired as business development manager for Arizona commercial sector

Crews joins McCarthy with nearly a decade of marketing and client relations experience. As business development manager, Crews will lead the creation and nourishment of relationships with current and future clients, partners and other stakeholders of McCarthy’s commercial construction projects, focusing on the healthcare, mission critical, aviation and municipal market sectors. She will also oversee and manage the team’s strategy on new opportunity pursuits and the development of market growth.

Crews is active with the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Arizona Chapter, serving in the Partnership Forum and Women’s Leadership Initiative. She is a member of Arizona Association for Economic Development (AAED) and the Phoenix affiliate of Women in Healthcare. Crews holds a bachelor of science degree from W.P. Carey at Arizona State University and was named a 2019 Up and Comer to Know in CRE by AZRE Magazine.

Frances Inestroza is hired as business development manager for Education Building Group

Inestroza brings more than 20 years of professional experience to the McCarthy team, with nearly a decade in the construction industry. She has an extensive background in operations and market research and will be an asset to McCarthy’s Education Building Group. In her new role, Inestroza will focus on further developing relationships with educational partners and stakeholders.

She is a member of the Arizona Association for Economic Development (AAED) and the Arizona Association of School Business Officials (AASBO). Inestroza’s leadership accolades include Managers to Lead Certification through XM Performance, graduation from the Scottsdale Leadership Organization, and she is currently part of McCarthy’s Foundation of Leadership program. She holds a bachelor of science in social work from the University of Akron, Ohio.
