Jones, Skelton & Hochuli looks to 2021 for market expansion

Jones, Skelton & Hochuli, PLC announced the addition of Eric A. Seeger to serve as the firm’s Chief of Staff. As part of the firm’s 2021 Strategic Plan, JSH created the Chief of Staff role to focus on growth and expansion into adjacent markets, as well as practice management and client service. Eric will work closely with the firm’s Managing Partner, Management Committee, Trial Group Leaders and Marketing Committee to develop and implement the firm’s strategic goals.

Eric brings 22 years of experience working with law firms and lawyers to identify strategic opportunities and improve client service and performance. Before joining JSH, as a principal with leading legal consultancy Altman Weil, Eric worked with hundreds of law firms throughout the U.S. and Canada on strategic planning, growth, operations management, practice/trial group leadership, C-level recruiting, succession planning, and market research and analysis. Eric’s in-house experience includes serving as Chief Operating Officer of a regional law firm and as strategy officer for an Am Law 200 firm.

Eric earned his B.A. in Philosophy and MBA from Tulane University. He participated in Harvard Business School’s Executive Program for Leading Professional Service Firms, and earned an M.A. in Leadership Studies from Lancaster Bible College.

In addition, the firm announced three administrative promotions. Congratulations Narinda Greene, Justin Folkerth and Lina Lujan on their elevated positions.

Narinda Greene has been promoted to Director of Administration, leading the firm’s day-to-day operations and managing over 100 legal support employees. She works closely with our Managing Partner, Management Committee and Chief of Staff on firm operations and strategic planning. In addition, Narinda leads the firm’s Administrative Management Team.

Narinda joined the firm in 2004 as a paralegal in our Governmental Liability & Employment Trial Group. She has more than 20 years of legal support experience, previously working for the Honorable Robert Myers and the Honorable Rebecca Albrecht at Maricopa County Superior Court. Narinda earned her Advanced Certified Paralegal (ACP) accreditation from NALA and her BS in Business Management from Arizona State University.

Justin Folkerth has been promoted to Director of Accounting. He joined JSH’s Accounting Department in 2010 and has worked in legal accounting for 10 years. As the firm’s Director of Accounting, he manages and leads the firm’s 12-person Accounting Department. Before his promotion, Justin worked as Pricing and Project Manager, Assistant Controller and Billing Clerk. Prior to joining JSH, he worked as an Underwriter for large commercial loans.

Justin is a member of the Association of Legal Administrators and has a B.S. in Global Business from ASU and M.S. in Accountancy from the University of Phoenix.

Lina Lujan has been promoted to Legal Support Manager. Her team handles all conflict checks, new matter openings, closed matter reports, docketing, electronic document management and trial reporting. She works hand-in-hand with our paralegals, secretaries, accounting department, General Counsel and Director of Administration to ensure timely and accurate case filing and reporting.

Lina has been with the firm for 23 years, initially serving as a legal assistant. She worked for founding partner Edward Hochuli and other JSH attorneys for 18 years, becoming an invaluable member of our team. In 2015, Lina was promoted to Legal Support Coordinator.

Logan Mather joins Newmark

Newmark announces that Logan Mather has joined the firm as Director of Management Services to provide strategic oversight of the firm’s property management operations in Arizona. Based in the Phoenix office, Logan will be responsible for business development, profit and loss management, team training and development and client relations.

Phoenix Design One promotes Sophia Humphrey

Phoenix Design One, Inc (PDO) announced the recent promotion of Sophia Humphrey to Associate. Sophia has been a team member at the firm for 13 years and was previously a Senior Project Manager. Sophia handles a large volume of corporate tenant improvements and is the main point of contact on more than 30 buildings where PDO is architect of record. She is responsible for client care and deliverables ranging from leasing assistance for broker support to construction administration and project close out. Over the last three years, Sophia has been the project lead on more than 2 million square feet in the Valley and has grown tremendously as a leader in the firm. Her new role will include increased responsibility for marketing, leadership, mentorship, and large-scale project management. Sophia will support the Principals in creating policy and strategies for business development, implementation, and workplace culture, and will spearhead updating comprehensive production and design standards based on her experience. She will also have a greater responsibility in growing the younger team members into more advanced roles.

New leadership installed at Scottsdale Area Association of REALTORS

The Scottsdale Area Association of REALTORS® (SAAR) 2021 Leadership Team has officially been installed. President Louis McCall, President-Elect Sandy Lunsford, Vice President Chris Nace, Treasurer Peggy Neely and Immediate Past President Sindy Ready assumed their new roles on December 1.

During a recent ceremony, McCall was sworn in by his former broker Astria Wong, pinned as president by mentor Saul Blair and joined in celebration by a dozen, socially distanced guests including his mother Linda and sister Lindsay. During a video presentation, more than a dozen past presidents virtually ‘passed the gavel’ to McCall.

“I believe we have a great year ahead,” McCall said, “It will not be free of challenges. However, I look forward to serving our members and our beautiful community.” McCall is the 57th president of the association.

In a virtual ceremony, SAAR directors were also installed: Allison Cahill, Jeff Dial, Michael Gant, Christopher Karas, Stacey Krolak, Lisa Roberts, Fletcher Wilcox and Angela Zampino. Cahill, Dial and Krolak are the newest members of the board.
