The Arizona Plaintiff’s personal injury law firm of Goldberg & Osborne is running two concurrent Don’t Text and Drive Scholarships.
Distracted driving continues to be a problem as drivers dangerously and negligently operate cell phones while behind the wheel of a moving vehicle. Popular apps, such as this past summer’s launch of Pokemon Go, offer new distractions taking drivers’ eyes off the road and onto their phones.
Each Don’t Text and Drive Scholarship is designed to spread awareness about the dangers of distracted driving while also encouraging higher education by helping with rising costs. Applicants must pledge not to text and drive in order to be eligible to win one of the scholarships.
Additionally each scholarship offers the opportunity for the applicant’s friends and family to take the don’t text and drive pledge.
Every additional pledge from a friend or family member that an applicant acquires not only helps further spread distracting driving awareness but increases the applicant’s odds of being selected to receive a scholarship.
The Arizona Don’t Text and Drive Scholarship awards $1,000 to one randomly selected applicant every calendar month. Attending or being accepted to attend an Arizona university or institution of higher learning is a requirement to apply for this scholarship.
The National Don’t Text and Drive Scholarship is open to applicants attending or planning to attend a university located anywhere in the United States. With this scholarship $1,000 is awarded every three months to a randomly selected winner who pledged not to text and drive. Winners are announced and congratulated on the Goldberg & Osborne Facebook page.
