We know what you’re thinking. “If my boss tells me to ‘circle back’ to a project one more time, I’m going to ‘circle’ my way right into a new job.” And that’s before you’re told to “pivot” your efforts to create more “synergy” across platforms so you can “own it” for the team and really help the company “scale.” 

Count yourself lucky if you don’t hear these phrases five times a day. Though they’re mostly meaningless, we have a feeling you’re all too familiar with professional workplaces conversations littered with these cliches.

10. It’s In Your Wheelhouse  – “You’d be good at it, so it’s your problem.”

11. Will It Scale? “This is good.  Let’s do more of it.”

12. I Have A 10,000-Foot View  – “I see everything and nothing at the same time.”

13. You Need to Make Headway “Make yourself productive already.”
