The Arizona Psychological Association (AZPA) has recognized Southwest Behavioral & Health Services (SB&H)’s dedication and commitment to providing a positive, supportive workplace by presenting SB&H with a Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award.
“We are honored and proud to receive this distinction from the AZPA,” said Jeff Jorde, SB&H President/CEO. “Our staff are the foundation of our business, and providing them with support and resources ensures our success. Our success in providing a psychologically healthy workplace is reflected in our turnover rate, which is 14% lower than industry average in Arizona. Investing in employees improves quality of services and the bottom line.”
The Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award was created to recognize organizations that understand the link between employee health and well-being and organizational performance and have implemented a variety of workplace practices in an active effort to create a positive work environment.
Each applicant was judged on criteria including: Employee Involvement, Work-life Balance, Employee Growth and Development, Health and Safety, and Employee Recognition. The selection process included a written application, employee surveys, and on-site interviews with Board members, management staff, and employees selected at random. Each organization selected demonstrated workplace practices that addressed each of these five categories.
“Being selected for this award represents the commitment that SB&H has for our staff members, to provide a well workplace environment that promotes a ‘whole person’ approach to well-being and quality of life…in and out of the workplace,” said Lisa Perez, SB&H Board Member.
The Arizona Psychological Association is the state association of the American Psychological Association, which has recognized more than 100 organizations at the state level.
