Celebrating its 25th anniversary, Gila River Hotels & Casinos is marking the momentous occasion in a big way with an attempt to break two Guinness World Records titles this April at Lone Butte. The record attempt will be a visual spectacle with 75 colorful four-foot bingo balls as well as a giant 20-foot by 20-foot bingo card.
At 9 a.m. on Thursday, April 25, Gila River will try to break the Guinness World Records titles for the largest set of bingo balls and largest bingo card in an official attempt verified by a Guinness World Records adjudicator at Lone Butte, home to the best bingo in the Valley for 25 years. Bingo lovers and novices alike are invited to the extravaganza, which will take place in the Lone Butte parking lot, one of the few places that can hold the record-shattering 75 four-foot bingo balls and the colossal bingo card.
Guests who are 21 and older can play along with the giant bingo set and will have the chance to win incredible prizes including a luxury suite and VIP experience at an Arizona Diamondbacks game, or $2,500 in free bonus play to use at Lone Butte, Wild Horse Pass or Vee Quiva. Along with the public, representatives from the Arizona Diamondbacks and Arizona Coyotes will be playing along with the giant game.
“We wanted to celebrate our 25th anniversary by taking one of the things we are known best for like bingo and blow it up in a huge way to mark this important milestone,” said Kenneth Manuel, CEO of Gila River Hotels & Casinos. “We are so proud of all that we’ve accomplished in the community since we’ve opened, and we are excited to celebrate with our valued guests and partners.”
Bingo has been a staple at Lone Butte since the casino opened 25 years ago with its daily bingo sessions and B.A.D. Bingo After Dark, a fan favorite that turns bingo into a party every Friday and Saturday night with neon lights, a live DJ and exciting prizes.
